Hello-

Im thinking about tinting my windshield with air blue ceramic tint. Would I have to cut a section of tint out for the intelligent cruise control camera? I was quoted $120 for this today. I just want to do all I can to prevent the dreaded dash bubbles....I guess im not even sure if the sun is the cause of these, but im bubble free so far.
Thanks!!

I would advise against tinting your windshield as you will increase your chances of getting ticketed for it. Also, the intelligent cruise is located behind the front bumper but if you have the LDW system then that will need to be considered.

I have my windhshield tinted at 35% and it looks really good, i say go for it, it looks clean and cops have pulled me over for random stops but haven't said anything about the windsheild tint, and it protects you a little bit in the summer thats for sure

LDW in the windshield... Thanks Dr.
Maybe the local policia wont bother me because of the tint is a lighter shade. Maybe:biggrin:

Who can share their experiences with their tinted windshield?
Still like it or regret it?
Does the novelty wear off?
Does it ever get annoying at night?

I have clear ceramic on my for three years now. I don't know how much UV it blocks, but it definitely makes the car feel a lot cooler temperature wise.

I have a UV-blocking tint (80% tint... looks almost clear), and I do think it helps keep the car cooler. Had it on my last FX, too. Regarding the novelty, I did my side windows much lighter this time, because I hated driving at night with super dark side windows. I can't even imagine having the windshield tinted dark because I don't want to run anybody over. I almost always have the windows down, but sometimes when it was super humid or raining, I wanted them up and it sucked. Also, didn't want to deal with the tickets anymore. I have had at least 10 tint tickets on my previous 4 cars.

I would be worried that if I had any slight mishaps and someone else was involved they would file a lawsuit claiming the tint hindered my view.

^ sad that that logic applies to most everything else. People are LOOKING for reasons to sue

All good points. Thanks guys!
I'm considering going mid-dark all around and light on the windshield.
The purpose is to keep the inside shaded and for good looks.
My biggest concern is night driving. The annoying factor.

Mine has been tinted since purchase at 50%. Love it and now hate being in cars that don't have the tint.. I actually have to get a new windshield due to a crack and will tint it again.
