Window visors?

Does anyone know where to get some good window visors?

I like to crack the window open even if it's raining for fresh air. The only one I've been able to find are the 3M stick on ones. My friend (different type of suv) has ones that slip into the window slot and doesn't require any double sided tape.

Weather-Tec. I think these are the best on the market. Had them on my 98 Jeep too. Was excited to see they were offered for the FX!

If you get rock chips, I'd recommend the hood deflector too. It doesn't look that great, but it does a good job. If I had it to do over again, I would not get the sun roof visor.

gotta love the weathertechs... I had the stick on ones before these, they suck bigtime. #1 they'll ruin whatevers left of the faded window moldings & #2 there much noisier on the hwy... the fx roofline pours water in with even the slightest cracking of the window in the rain without these, there a must, don't know how some guys do without these really, they don't look all that bad to me

John, one time while I was looking through photos, I saw your FX with the stick-on shields. I was totally going to razz you on here for those. Glad you found the WTs.

I completely agree - I think they actually improve the look. They change the line of the window to seem lower, which sleeks out the whole roofline. I have had a couple guys tell me the hood visor looks good because it sort of "matches" the lower trim around the fog lights. The words used (not mine) were, "it looks meaner" with the hood deflector. Sometimes I wonder what my FX would look like without it, but the rock chips on my hood and windshield always win.

Who makes the hood deflector? might get one to hide my ugly dented chipped hood... shouldn't be as noticeable on Sap.

After seeing all your guys pictures I went ahead and got the weathertech window visor.. I was reading the thread and brought memories when sometimes I try to wipe my windshield and half of the fluid come thru the windows.. I can't wait to get this.

The visors came in today and the front went on quite easily. Having some difficulty with the back windows. Does the visor go between the car and rubber or between rubber n window? The insert seems to be a little small as well. With the insert the rubber can't go back in flush. Am I doing something wrong?

Make sure the clip goes into the door first and use the little metal tool they supply to help pull the weatherstripping out of the way first. Once the clip is all the way in, the visor should go on TOP of the clip and under the weather stripping. The clip pushes the visor out against the stripping, holding it in place.

When the visors are installed, the clips will not be visible from the outside of the car.

Well yes - but I'm not really sure it's "more" wind noise. I think it is just a different tone or pitch to the noise than we are accustomed to. You get used to it in a few weeks and I don't hear it at all anymore.

Of course, I always have music on in the car too...

I left that there, right above it I put the IS on both side from the new stickers I just got... It looks great.!

I left mine on because I tried to take the sticker off when I bought these for my jeep about ten years ago. It didn't go well - I tried to just peel it off, but there was some scratching and it was obvious something had been removed. I didn't like that, so I have not tried to remove them from my FX. If anybody has a good method, please post!

WELL... Got my weathertech vent visors today , I must say, THEY ARE GARBAGE.

Weathertech and MacNeil automotive have been on my radar since before I could drive (many , many years) I saw their ads in road and track moter trend etc. and always thought they must be a great company - BOY WAS I WRONG.

I wasted two hours trying to install these pieces of crap tonight and had a few friends stop by in the process a - a few of whom are also mechanics and a couple of parts guys who also told me these were crap.

The main issue is that with them installed , the rubber window track does not seat properly so the window will not roll up all the way , I did the rear first , and thought to myself "okay the window doesn't go up all the way but so what" .

Then it was on the the fronts , well that was worse , the passenger side went on and the window had a gap of about 1/8" and LUCKILY , the window worked properly .

HERE is when the big problem started - I put the drivers one on , as soon as I tried to roll the window up it went up and right back down , now I know from my QX that you can re-learn the window limit point , but I was not about to do that , I decided to try making it fit , so I spent about an hour cursing , sanding , cursing , filing , and finally ended up giving up and basically ruining the drvier side visor .

To make matters worse , I tried driving and all the windows make a terrible air leaking noise , so bad I had to pull over on the highway and rip the passenger side one off.

I will be calling Macneil tomorrow to see what they say -

Anyone have some input here? Anyone try to buy a single replacement?
