a 295-40-20, will it work well on a 20x9.5 rim for my 03' Fx45 that has a 48 offset. any suggestions are welcome and much needed. a installer at autotrend, told that would fit with no problems.

I think it should fit. Are you sure its a 48 offset? I would definitely consult with whom you are making the purchase from, they should be able to look it up to make sure.

Offset is mounting point to the outer of the rim, without seeing the face there's no formula for caliper clearance.
