Will R35 Skyline Shift Knob fit 2008 FX35?

Had a friend suggest I install a R35 Skyline shift knob on my 08 FX35, anyone know if it will fit?

The mounting is different on both, Skyline knob is shorter which means you'd have to wether cut down/shave the plastic gear shift tee rid or try to find one for skyline and swap them out.

I see. Would that be difficult to do? Do you have any suggestions on shift knobs that are easy bolt on or require minimal modification?

It's doable, but not sure if it would be sturdy, since Skyline doesn't use the horse shoe pin to lock it in place. There isn't many after market that exist. So far Momo or Ichibahn are the only two that seem to work the best.
