Will a 305 40 22 fit without rubbing?

Looking at a 22" tire that is not available in a 305 35 22.
Will a 40 series work?
I have 265 40 22 on the wheels I just bought and they look pretty small.
I'd like to fill the wheels wells a bit more and soften the ride with more profile.
It looks like I have tons of room.
These are 22 x 9.5

Well, the 305/40 is about 1" taller (12" top and bottom), I doubt that would cause any issues (other than the msall speedo error) - you did not mention the offset of your wheels.

The 305 is also about 1.5" wider (or .75" on each side) and the other issue is most are "officially" rated for a 10" minimum rim width (may or may not be an issue)

What I sometimes like to do if experimentig with tire size (after exhausting the tire calculators) is get a used tire (or scrap tire from teh junk pile at a tire shop) and mount it up to see - you have to remember to add about 12" at times to account for new tread vs. bald.

I kind of doubt you would get rubbing though depending on your offset.
 
hey im looking to get 305/40/22 also for mine i already have those at the back i have 265/40/22 in the front and same like you i wanna go more aggressive did you get them and if yes any problems when turning or any rubbing what so ever please help i wanna put these on asap.
 
Are you lowered or not? Chances are you will rub. 305/35/22 is a better diameter to go with. I wanted this setup initially and it's near impossible to find this tire size anywhere and Pirelli has them on perpetual backorder it seems.

I run 31.85 diameter on 11.22 width. You are wanting to run 31.60 diameter on 12 width. If you are on stock springs, going in a straight, smooth road line you will be fine. Doing a full turn, I am pretty confident that you WILL rub the inner wheel wells. Also, depending on your offset, you will most likely rub in the rears and front in big dips or bumps.

I advise against this tire.

285/40/22 is more ideal and works for both lowering springs and stock springs, except on big bumps you might rub a little in the front, but you should not rub on full turns.

305/40/22 is just too wide and tall for the front.

Being AWD, be careful of the diameters.
 
I'm running 285/40/22 all around. I rub in the rear with H&R springs in the rear going over big dip on the road with 40mph. Now with Coilovers, I rub in the front with that size tire over big dip at 40 mph.

I think 285/40/22 on stock springs should not have any rubbing. That's a whole +1" higher than H&R spring.
 
I am having same issues front coils Are rubbing on the inside of tire on 285/35/22 im on 5mm spacer im thinkin go up to a 15mm or get 265/35/22 for the fronts
