i have a 2004 QX56 that I have had for many of years with no issues…I tried to start it with no avail so I replaced the battery…no luck! Had the starter checked and it was fine….I have noticed that the carpet in front is VERY wet and a rusty drip mark running down the driver's side dashboard…I have had the windshield replaced a few years back after a branch shattered it but have never noticed any leakage…It has been too cold to do anything thus far as we are in Ohio but I need to address this as I need to sell to keep boys in their family home…(It is not the primary vehicle as I usually drive my truck as it is needed for my business (although not nearly as nice). We are a "do it yourself" type family as it is a financial necessity, plus I try to keep my boys educating themselves in these types of things…but is this an unachievable quest? Any insight or suggestions of any type would be greatly appreciated! Thx in advance, Cindy

I'm sure folks would love to help but that isn't enough information to make a diagnosis. Could be any number of issues.
Frankly I'd suggest at least taking it to a shop that can read out the ODBII codes.
Also a good site to check would be infinitihelp.com. The site owner is an Infiniti master mechanic I believe and he may have some good guidance for you.

Since you mentioned the battery is new and the starter is good, then my thought is to check all the connections, including at the battery, for corrosion or something. Also possible that there was an electrical issue from the water and something could have shorted.
How much water? What color is it? What does it smell like? Did you notice this after a rain storm? Are the pillers and carpet on the side of the door completely dry?
Take it to the shop and ask them to check for the gap between the front windshield the window frame. Since the windshield has been replaced and the caulking was sub par, you will have a water leak.

If the water leaked onto the body control module that can cause the car not to start. Any water that is seeped into the control module, can cause wet contact during heavy rain, melting snow (possibility in your case). The key less control module is right next to body control module, if they are both damaged, this will cause you a ton of money and tons of hours in labor.
