Widebody FX

Just went trough the whole tread again surching for intell on your prior A/T. I know your first set-up was around 500Hp. What i couldn't find if that was Whp or at the cranck. If it was Whp i was just wondering why your were able to get higher numbers out of the tranny then Jumbo did.......:wink (2):
 
Always whp. Kind of hard to compare the 2 set ups, to get over 500 (think the max we did was 53x) it took over 20psi. Track trap speeds show the difference, max trap I ever had on the 5AT was 110-111. 6MT was 117 after all the show weight gains. lol

Jep this is where i reach my technical english border again unfortunatly. I don't understand what you mean with 53X and Track Trap Speed.
Could you explain please....??
 
I think what he meant was the most he got out of it was in the 530s range in whp. And trap speed is regarding the quarter mile; lower speed at the finish with quicker time with the auto trans. Higher speed with lower quarter mile time when she got fatter. Or I could be completely wrong :-)

Sounds logical....thanks...!!

So 530 at 20 PSI......that is almost a 100 WHP more then Jumbo had with almost the same mods done on the tranny. Did you ever had any faillure on the tranny. Or was that 530 the limit of the engine or did the tranny complain at that point.
I try to figure out why there is such a big difference.......and so if there is any gain for me somewhere. The engine is build in overkill but that BS troubles me......
 
tranny is already finished and mounted. so no posibilities there. i approx have the same things as viet had in his first set-up. level 10 internals and VB and the edge racing TC so was wondering how he was able to get more out of it then others have without issues .
 
ray, viet pushed the limits more and made more power than brad, simple as that. he was pushing 20psi vs brad staying in the safer range of 12-14psi. what he is explaining to you about the difference performance wise of the auto to the 6mt is that the auto does suck up a lot of your available power and wastes it in heat transfer and excess heat generation. some of this power is transfered to heat with the auto and is lost, where the 6mt is a way more efficent direct drive. assuming there is no slippage in the clutch the automatic is like a horsepower sponge in comparison... the more power you make the more the auto will convert to heat which is loss. the more heat built up the more stress on the tranny, after a while it becomes a matter of diminshing return. it's not how much power you can make as much as a matter of how much power you can make while having the tranny live...
 
Hi, I'm a total newbie to infiniti scene, just joined today. i've been wanting to outfit my 05 FX35 and couldn't find aftermarket parts anywhere...

Please help, i really like this body kit also.

No start up. Been sitting almost 2 years now. Gas is probably like 2 octane. Will be back in a few weeks with oil, gas and a trailer. :)
