Why you chose the 35 or a 45?

I wanted a FX35 with everything except the rear DVD system. Got no kids. Don't like people sitting in my back seat. No need for rear seat entertainment.

No AWD because I don't need it.

Went with the 35 instead of the 45 because of gas consumption.

No chrome or polish on my wheels thank you unless they're on the lip of a Volk or HREs

I have satellite radio.. but I would gladly trade it in for an ipod aux. in. Freaking $49k car doesn't even have an ipod adapter. Even the Ford Focus has one

I wanted the FX35 with AWD so I could use it as a practical, year-round daily driver that could handle snow duty. I like the high revving, buzzy, somewhat unrefined but hard working nature of the 3.5 V6. It makes the FX feel a little more raw to me. Plus the better mpg was a plus. I specifically got a NON-sport because I knew I would be switching out suspension and adding braces aftermarket, and I really wanted the OEM 18" gunmetal wheels.

I thought there was a basic AUX input in the 06-08 as standard even if you didn't get the iPod option?

glove box i think

I thought that was the optional iPod Interface location?

Here is a list of the ICE standard features for the MY08. No sign of a standard AUX input though.

In Car Entertainment
Bose premium brand stereo system
AM/FM in-dash 6 CD player with CD MP3 Playback stereo
300 watts stereo output 11 total speakers
Bose premium brand speakers
diversity antenna
XM satellite radio
2 subwoofer(s)
radio data system

Can anyone clarify??

I wanted the 45 with everything, never really thought about the 35 until after reading about what a lot of FX forum members have accomplished. Im really not into all the aftermarket performance mods. A good mod for me would be to get better gas mileage...lol. I do like wheels, lowering springs, and because I have the SUV is the sole reason why I purchased braces; trying to eliminate/reduce the body roll. I think either are excellent choices, I guess it just depends what you want to do with your choice.

Also the DVD entertainment console; that aux input can be used for your IPOD if you so choose to do so.

Mostly the price. Bought new, & $ diff was pretty large, performance not. Also wanted RWD.
If I'd gone the pre-owned route, I'd be in a 45.

I bought my 45 new and did test drive both. But the 45's torque with the feeling of pushing you back into the seat when you open it up was just too unforgettable! Plus I did not want to ever wonder if I should have bought a 45 instead . If I would have gotten a 35 I would undoubtedly have spent way too much money and a lot more then I have so far on the 45. I have no regrets on spending the extra $$$ on the 45.

I started out with a 35 but always wanted the 45. Mid-2008 I decided to upgrade after just 18 months with the 35. I love the torque of the V8, not to mention it is quieter than the V6. The 35 is more fun to drive, however.
