Who on here uses DS (drivers sport) mode?

99% of the time I'm either on regular D mode or on manual shifting mode. When leaving it in the DS mode, the rev-matching downshifts while slowing down is quite uncomfortable. I don't mind the downshifts when I do it myself, but 3->2 and 2->1 on DS is very unpleasant.

In the 35, I Just leave it in drive because it doesnt have rev matching and it's kind of an annoying transmission. Haha.

I thought the first gen 35 has rev matching down shifts...?

I used to use sport shift more than i do now. I do use it a lot in our mini cooper though. What I hate is when I forget that I've taken it off sport shift and go to shift just to accidentally throw it in neutral instead. Vroom!

When I drive Im never in auto-drive. I have to be able to go through the gears. Coming from only a stick shift car past. This was my first auto stick, and its honestly its not so bad. But it seems all of our whips suffer from the same prob. My Gen needs one more gear, and 09 and up need one less. Lol, maybe a skyline tranny swap:wink (2):

DS mode

sorry guys this may sound stupid, but i don't have a owners manual. is it ok to shift from (D) drive to (DS) sport mode while i'm driving? :embarrassed:

I was going to post on this and then found this thread...I've used DS since the first day I got my FX50S...but recently I've noticed that it seems I'm getting more power in D :eek.:

What's up with that ? Also, when I'm doing regular driving around in DS, it always seems to upshift before it needs to and I don't feel that those higher gears have the power for what I need. Then again, when I don't have the dogs in my car and I'm actually DRIVING my FX and I'm in DS mode...then the high revs are killer...but it is starting to seem to me that DS for every day commuting isn't as effective as D (which is kind of depressing to me). Thoughts ?

I just realized this post was in the "FX35 09-12" section and I have an 2012 FX50S, but didn't see the need to start a new thread...
