Anyone know who this member is? I'd like to find out what type of tires these are... also what size they are.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Those are stock sized 20" tires, so should be 265/50/20.

It also looks like the FX in this photo is using 20 or 25mm spacers, and has been lowered on either Eibach or H&R springs. Also, the stock rim has been powdercoated (or painted) black.

If they are using spacers... do you think they would be wider the 265/50? I like the way this stance is.

The spacer goes between the wheel and the rotor, so it does not change how wide the tire is. It only moves the wheel out towards the fender.

In this photo, I am using 20mm spacers.

Here's the OEM wheel mounted with the spacer.

If you did nothing but buy spacers, it would widen the stance of the car and push the wheels out..

Sweet... that makes sense now. But with spacing it... will it allow for wider tires? Also, does the spacer affect the ride quality at all?

If you bought a new rim/wheel that was wider than OEM, you would have to fit new tires to that rim. I don't think you can buy wider tires for the OEM wheel. If you are talking about an aftermarket wheel, then ideally you would not need to use spacers.

Time to edjamucate yourself on wheels - use wiki or any search engine to help you learn about wheel offset (OEM is +38mm) and how to size an aftermarket wheel. A wider wheel will have less/more offset to make it fit inside the same space.

Spacers are not ideal and could affect ride quality if not installed properly. If they are good quality spacers (H&R, Ichiba) then you should not have any issues. Ton of threads here on IS about this also. Use the search function to see what has been written in the past - there are plenty of examples of both custom wheels and OEM wheels with spacers.

I was told the same by an employee at Discount Tire but apparently StuLax18 runs Hankook Ventus ST RH06 275/45/20 on stock wheels.
Yep, and I wasn't the first. It's been too long to remember specifically, but I know of at least 2 others who did, and I talked to them about it before making a purchase. In fact I think I made a thread on it. ///4558

So here's a link on what all those numbers mean when you are sizing a tire:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=46

It's complicated, but if you read and understand it all, Stu's tire is not really much wider. The measurement says Stu's tire is 10mm larger than OEM (275mm-265mm=10mm). BUT, that measurement (275) is from the largest part of the inner and outer sidewall bulges. This is not necessarily the tread width, though it could be depending on the style of the tire. Some members have run as wide as 305 on the same OEM rim. The tire rubber bulges past the rim which is good for rim rubbing protection.

You can also stretch, or mount a tire a bit too small for a particular rim. Most people don't do this and I agree for tire life/wear reasons, but for that ultra low barely tucked look, stretching tires is almost mandatory in the tuner community.
