Who else hates their tan headliner?

I don't know why infiniti insisted on making 95% of their cars with tan headliners when the rest of the entire interior is black, my girlfriend has somehow managed to get lipstick all over mine. Im looking at 2 options here, get the oem liner and pillars wrapped in black suede (alcantara) or upgrade to a 2015 Q70s oem black headliner and pillars.

To my knowledge the new q70s is the only 2nd gen to get a black headliner. Only problem is the cost $700 for the liner alone.

Anyone do the swap on here, or have theirs wrapped?

$700 for just the headliner or the headliner installed?
700 just for the headliner from infiniti. The a pillars are $130 each i think. Then u need the b pillars, visors, handles, map light assy etc.....easily 1200 in parts to complete the swap. Thats why i wasthinking about having mine wrapped.

Just have it wrapped, maybe half the cost. I have a 1st gen but the headliner was light grey which clashed with the black interior as well. So I had it done in black synthetic suede for $600 total with all pillars. Handles have to be painted, but easy enough. You can DIY since the fabric isn't that expensive, it's not hard. I was just too lazy to disassemble everything and I already knew a guy.

Zebra had his wrapped I think, he did it himself and it looks good. I hate my beige headliner too, but my entire interior is beige so I have to deal with it. If I do the headliner, I will wanna do everything else and that just means too much money

So glad my brick interior came with a black headliner ;)

WHAT!?

I had no idea the Brick interior came with a black headliner. That's fantastic news.

I am planning on re-doing my headliner in a darker colour soon, now I know that I can get factory accessories, like all the clips, and lights and handles and stuff in black. I don't have to paint them, or try to dye them or whatever.

Which handles are you referring to? Headliner ones? I painted everything myself with a brown Rustoleum Paint for Plastics.

I painted mine as well since it was so easy. It's been 6 years and no peeling so far. And painted the trunk trim as well.

I also ended up using taillight tint film on the dome lights and painting the buttons. I thought it looked weird with the white lens and grey buttons so I blacked all that out as well. With the 20% tint, it pretty much looks like a coffin inside.

Don't forget about your visors, you're either going to have to wrap, dye, or replace them. I wrapped mine.

If we can still get the black parts, I wouldn't mind actually replacing the parts with new black components rather than painting them.

Let me know when you are ready ill get you pricing, I believe I have an extra front map light assy

After going the dealership today for an oil change and sitting in a 16 QX70 and seeing the black headliner on a QX70 that's the exact thing of my 12 FX35 I want to really look into swapping out the tan for black

Be sure to post about it if you do. I am considering it as well.

I'm going to have to get an idea how much is everything going to cost me and the pieces I need to do it.

I don't really hate it because it matches my beige interior but was thinking about doing brown, you can just pick up a few cans of fabric spray paint,i had a 86 Mercury Merkur XR4TI That had gray carpet and headliner i painted black it turned out great.

I am in the minority here but I prefer a light colored headliner / pillars. Makes the car much less of a dark cave.

I was going to paint my a pillars wich stand out with duplicolor black fabric spray paint. I did it on a costume i wear on halloweens fabric & it never peeled or flaked off.
