Had a quick question. I hear this whining noise when I start my car. I know its not the drive belt since I just replaced about 15k miles ago. I have a feeling it might something with power steering o ring or something. Any thoughts? It only happenes on cold start, after the car warms up and I drive a little bit. It goes away.

It's probably is your belts. They may not be tight enough. Had the same issue with my FX, tightened the belt and noise gone

That sounds exactly like a belt. Just because they were replaced 15K ago doesn't rule them out as the culprit. A lot of times when belts get replaced, they're not tightened enough.

Thanks for the info!

So I'm at the auto shop trying to get the belt tightened. They say on the 2010 FX 35 there is a auto tensioner. Any thoughts?

I think 2009 on is one belt if so then yes auto tensioner. That would make it even easier to do.

Has this been fixed Skyline? I also have that problem and am also wondering if the auto-tensioning can be adjusted or not?
