Hi guys, this is my first thread so I hope everything comes out right with the foto's I've added! Problem is my airbag light has been blinking ever since I bought my FX, computer readout shows its the clock spring(spiral cable, switch housing) that needs to be replaced. The thing is, the new clock spring isn't the same as the one sitting in my FX (08), and my head mechanic insists it can't be "made' to fit, it must be replaced by the same one sitting in my FX. Infiniti Netherlands has double checked it and is sure they sent me the correct clock spring, I looked it up at "Infiniti parts usa" and the site shows that the 08's clock spring was updated from B5567-CCOOE(07's) to B5567-EVOOE for the 08's, which I received from the dealer. My mechanic couldn't find any codes on the clock spring in my FX so he took some foto's to show me the differences. Can anyone tell me which clock spring my FX has just by looking at the foto's? (the clock spring without a printed sheet of paper behind it is the big unknown sitting in my FX) Big thank's in advance!

Do you have a picture of the steering column sensor? The black round part that mate with the with part of the white clock spring? There is a part# on the steering column sensor that will give me a hint on your clock spring. I've done a few paddle shifter retro kit and have run into 07 and 08 clock spring not matching up.

What is the manufacture date on your FX?

I'll take a look at the different clock spring at home tonight and get back with you on yours.

The new one is definitely match up with the 07 & 08 part number. The problem is your clock spring is not and 07 or 08 part.

B5567-CL70A is the old 08 part number.

Ok, thanks for the quick response, I don't have a picture of the steering column sensor, but if its needed i'll have the garage take the steering wheel off and make some pictures. At the risk of sounding stupid, where can I find the manufacture date? as far as I could dig up before purchase was that this FX came from Infiniti of Coconut Creek, got shipped and sold to someone in Amsterdam and I am now its second owner. Hope you can help me out with this one, or else it will be a 6 hour drive back and forth to Infiniti to let them have a peek at it!

If you need pictures, just let me know, won't be any hassle getting that done.

The manufacture date can be found on the vehicle information tag in the door frame when the driver's door is opened.
I just borrowed the picture below from Google as an example:

Since I found out the manufacture date was 4/07 I decided to just go en google a bunch of codes and names and see what would turn up, it looks like I have a 07 clock spring with code nr:B5567CCOOE. If you google this code for pictures i'm 99.9% sure that its the same clock spring as in my FX. It doesn't matter if you put "Infiniti" or "Nissan" before the code, you still get the same pictures, apparently its also used in the Murano. I've posted some pictures from the net next to the picture of my Fx's clock spring. If anyone thinks i'm wrong, just let me know, otherwise i'll just order this one.

I think I m having same issue problem as tony, year ago , my clock spring is damaged no horn no control I bought new one for my infinity fix 35 2008 they gave me this part number b5567 ev00E unfortunately after installed It i start to have strange noise while turning my steering wheel right or left , so when take it to a mechanic says part not correct , part column is too big causing poor connection clockes[ring includes steering angle sensor q354885 something like that , I’m lost now can you help me what do I have to do ? I ask the mechanic to take the new part that causes noise problem and put back the old damaged no more noise now , but no horn and no cruise control
As you can see in the picture the left clock spring is the damaged one wich is the right one that matches my car and the right clock spring is the newest b5567 evooe you can tell they don’t look the same

Hey Dean, looks like you have the same issue I had, a 2008 but with a older clock spring in it and not the B5567EVOOE as stated by the dealer. I spent a couple of nights comparing fotos on the net until I was pretty certain that my 2008 had a B5567CCOOE. I went the cheap way and ordered one from E bay for about 40$, got it installed and the airbag light stopped blinking!!.......... for 3 days, then it came back on. Then I ordered one through my local Nissan dealer (260$) and had it installed, that was 6 months ago and it never blinked again!

Seems that some 08's have the older clock spring's, just google B5567CCOOE pictures and compare them carefully with your clock spring, if it looks like you have a B5567CCOOE then my advice would be to buy a OEM one through Infiniti or Nissan(they are the same)

Thanks a lot tony , can I buy it from eBay or amazon maybe I can get one around 120 dollars new same as the cost of the b5567 EVOOE when I bought it ? Because in infiniti dealer will cost me 300 dollars or more

You could do that, just make sure you can send it back if it doesn't solve your problems. I had one from Ebay for 40$, the fit was perfect, but that worked for 3 day's, then my light started blinking again, at that time I just wanted to end this crap and dished out for a OEM one, which finally solved my problem. You could see if a Nissan dealer is cheaper, if you go OEM. Over here Infiniti dealers have insane pricing! Good luck

Pictures of the one I ll order
