Got a 2010 fx35 and looking to do a seafoam treatment on it and do a throttle body clean. Any one tell me which hose im supposed to use? Im hoping its not under the engine cover. I got a strut bar and it be a pain to take it all off :/
I did a sea foam treatment on my 03 fx45 and it was in the compartment with the brake fluid chamber.. on an 2003 I thought I would get quite a smokeshow but nothing really came out. I also did the seafoam fuel cleaner and it did ok I guess. I would use it on about a half of a tank or less. I would advise against cleaning the throttle body. Look up some previous post on the throttle body and it might just scare you straight.
From what I understand Infiniti uses a very thin coating on the throttle bodies and if they are disturbed in the slightest you will have h**l correcting the situation. I would recommend cleaning the mass airflow sensor, that is pretty simple and straight forward. I cleaned mine and couldn't tell much of a difference but it was nice to know it was clean and also added a JWT pop charger. I found on my 45 with the strut bar, my engine cover comes off pretty easily. I guess it may be different on the newer generations. If you decide to go ahead and clean the throttle body just be super careful.
cleaning the throttle body is very simple, you just need to follow directions i.e. not letting the butterfly valves close shut. There are many threads on here on instruction or diy
