Where to purchase front wheel bearing and confusion about what part #'s

I was hearing some hum from my front of the car, it got loader around 60-80 mphs. At first I thought it was the cars engine, then I would cruise on the highway and put it in neutral and noise persisted. The dealership said both front wheel bearings needed to be changed. They quoted me $950 parts and labor. I found the DIY and figured I'd give it a whirl or hire my mobile mechanic to do it. The confusion is which parts to buy
I have 2004 FX35 AWD

1) Do I buy the bearing alone or whole assembly, or does it just come one style ?
2) If they are available separately what are the pro and cons of doing whole assembly vis just bearing alone ?
3) What is the correct Infiniti/Nissan part # ?
4) What is the cheapest and reliable place online to get OEM parts ?

Sorry, I can't answer your specific questions, but make sure that both wheel bearings need to be changed. If you take your car to a local garage and they put it up on the lift and spin the wheels they should be able to determine which side has the faulty bearing if it is that bad. I had my local mechanic replace the driver side bearing on my other car not too long ago and parts and labor was around $195 (2hr labor to install a $50-$60 part). Hope I saved you some money.
 
If you have a bearing press (I don't think your mobile mechanics will have it, since it is quite big), then you can buy just the bearing. However, the labor will take longer, even though the prices are cheaper for just the bearing; you will have take out the front hub assembly and use the press to take the bearing out and then press the new bearing into the front hub assembly. If you screw up and damage the front hub (that bearing press produces force about couple tone), then you will need to replace the whole hub assembly.

Otherwise, buying the front hub assembly is much easier to install, take about 2 hrs to do both sides by replacing the entire hub assembly.

Any recommendations if Timken are better then OEM Infiniti bearings ?
Heard a lot of chatter on the forums stating that it is quite common the Infiniti bearing failing often. Price diffrence between the 2 are like $3.
 
I will go with infinitipartsusa personally, since they are the infiniti dealer / supplier, so chances of getting wrong parts are fairly low. Bearing fail is pretty common is most of the japanese cars, not just infiniti. Timken and OEM, i don't think there is much difference. However, if you buy Timken and got fitment issue, then you are simply wasting your labor. It's your call on choosing your vendors and parts manufacture.

Actually bearing failure is not so common, in Japanese cars, I've owned quite a few different ones Lexus IS300, Mazda RX7 WRXSTi, Honda Accord, Acura TL and Infinit FX

Of course the FX is the only car that bearings had to be changed. The accord had 160K on it original bearings. The IS300 well over 100K nothing but standard maintenance, amazing quality!

Plenty of people have installed the Timken on this and .org forum, fitment doesn't appear to be an issue as its made to OE specs.

I was just stating that since most people have issues with OEM, if its worth trying Timken since they may last longer and at least come with 12 months 12K warranty.

Also infinitpartusa shipping is outrageous, dealerdirectparts has free shipping and same price.

I ended up pulling the trigger on Timkens, Plenty of good reviews and feedback from them. People seem to be mixed about OEM, especially people who's bearings blew at 20k, 40K and 50k. Also found a post that said Timkens where the same as OEM if not better.
