I have my FX at my electronics guy place, he's attempting to find the module in the picture for the moving navigation modification... where is the molex/multipin connector located in the FX??? thanks!!
Thank you Turbocad! he found it! now he's off to Radio Shack to source a nice switch. So with this mod made, you can now use the switch to use navigation while moving, can you just leave the switch always on then in this case? or will it draw/drain the battery? I know I will forget to turn the switch off one of these days... thanks again for your help!
if you leave the switch "OPEN" then the NAV will think you are not moving. and the map wont track where you are at. Needs to be OFF or "Closed" so tha NAV is working
I would located the switch near the arm rest like toy4 pic on another thread.
the switch is diconnecting the gps antenna, that's why it don't know your moving, but at the same time tracking don't work either, so you HAVe to turn it back on or it won't ever get a gps signal & locate you at all with the switch off...
also, when you do turn the switch back on, it takes a little while for the nav to relocate you. there is a bit of a delay before it gets back on track, but this is the only way to allow input while driving....
