Where can i get custom made metal hub centric rings

Ok, some of you know I bought a set of wheels from another member. I had to buy spacers to clear the calipers and then hub centric rings. I ended up going with 10mm ichiba spacers and plastic hub centric rings. Well after install i had a bad wheel shake and had the wheels rebalanced and still shake so I took everyhting off and determined that the rings are not matting up to the spacers completly flush and the spacer is not fitting tight to the wheel. Also the wheel hub bore is not deep enough for the rings that come with the spacers and preventing it from matting to the wheel completely flush. So I have determined that I have two options, first it to keep the rings that came with the 10mm spacers and have new hub centric rings made that are not as thick and use 12mm spacers. Or have a custom metal ring to go from the spacer to the wheel. So, what do you guys think is my best option? I think the metal ring from the spacer to the hub is my best option but probably the most expensive. Again, do any of you know where i could have something like this made? I know I could go to a machine shop but I would prefer someone that is familiar with what I am trying to do. I have too much money in this project to scrap it and don't want o half ass it. I want no shake or vibrations. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

There are companies that make custom hubcentric spacers for just about any application. I'd Google it, i forget the name of the company. My brother got a set a while back as he got Forgeline wheels made for a Mustang to put on his G.

I had a similar situation with my asanti's and what I did was have custom spacers made. the spacers has an inner bore of 66.1mm for the nissan hub and the ring part that fits to the wheel was made to be 73mm instead of the normal 66.1 in & out as a conventional spacer would be. this is the best solution really because it becomes spacer and adapter in one piece and a perfect fit to the hub and the wheel with no seperate rings.

all you need to know is the hub flange is 66.1mm & then you need to know the wheel bore and spacing distance and you can order custom spacers here: http://wheeladapter.com/

cost was not unreasonable either, think there priced at ~$65 each so ~$130 pair plus shipping. these do not include the extended studs. I wanted to use ARP studs anyway

Mine are made from here:
http://www.motorsport-tech.com/hub_rings.html

They have EXCELLENT quality and they have years of experience. Their CAD engineer knows exactly how to program their CNC machine and also has knowledge or a full database of EXACT specs of cars/wheels.

Mine are exactly 72.56mm to 66.1mm. Some places make them like 72.6 and round up/down. These were made to exact .01 mm and had a tampered edge to easily slip onto the hub/wheel.

Having 24" wheels and ZERO steering wheel shake is proof.

yeah, a precise bore measurement is critical to a perfect fit. I winded up buying a bore gage to get a precise measurement and had my spacers made to a fairly tight fit. the 73mm I quoted is what the wheel was spec'd as from assanti but in actual measurement I winded up with something like 73.09mm or whatever is was. my spacer fits into the wheel with a slight amount of force and once it's in there it stays attached to the wheel tightly. in a sense the spacer has almost become part of the wheel, and now to put these wheels on and off is just like the wheel was correct to begin with. the spacer stays attached to the wheel at all times and you don't even know it's there when you remove & reinstall the wheel.

your problem will be getting a precise measurement. to measure the bore requres acurate tooling and several measurements around the bore to find the tightest point. if you have a machine shop close to you they should be able to give you an acurate measurement for way less than it would cost you to get a good bore gauge. just going with the factory "spec" measurement is not the worse thing in the world but the more precise you are the more acurate the spacer wil be and the more perfect it will fit

BTW, Fred is well known in the industry in making custom spacers, etc... He knows his stuff and is old school. I wouldn't hesitate going to either Fred or MotorSport Tech (Junior/JR).

Well I finally got everything back together today. I also installed 4 new rotor pro rotors and pads. I would like to throw out a sencere thanks to easy_goer, he chimed in and offered to make me a set of custom hub centric rings for my application. I took some precise measurements and made a drawing and emailed it to him. He made them the same day and overnighted them to me and they fit like they grew on my wheels and hubs. I now have no shake or vibrations!!! I cannot say enough good things about this site and the members as everyone has been very helpful in many questions and or problems I have ran across. Once again thanks to all and a big thanks to Paul aka easy_goer!!!!!!!

I am a CNC progarmer and work for a company to produces prototype and production jobs here in Plano, TX. If you guys have any specific parts need to be made just contact me. I made all spacers from different sizes for my FX. But not looking forward to make profit in today markets...
