Ive heard that wheel spacers can put too much pressure on our wheel bearings...is this true? I had 15MM on my G35 with no problems for 5 yrs. Ive would love to go 10mm out more. Any experiences with spacers and problems?

The operative term here is "too much". More? Yes. "Too much" is subjective.

The fact is lots of people here run spacers and very few have had issues.

I just put 25mm on mine despite some peoples negative feelings. I know a whole mess of car guys around here that run them on all types of cars. I had 2 wheel bearings go bad at less than 50k with no spacers, so i figured screw it apparently they can fail either way. besides, the warranty company doesnt have to know theres spacers on.

From what I have seen, regardless if you space or not your going to be replacing wheel hub assembly's anyway. That is one of the weak links with our cars.

I just put 25mm H&R spacers on all 4 wheels a month ago! I did not have any issues so far and I certainly hope I won't.

I guess it would make sense though if you put it this way: the further the wheel is from the bearing, the greater the axial torque will be and hence the pressure on them, specially when the car is moving or even worst when hitting a bump.

This can be very disturbing!!!

It's not any different than getting wheels that stick out further than stock which everyone does. I see very few people getting aftermarket wheels that are as sunken as stock ones. Does it stress your wheel bearings more? Of course it does. Will it make any sort of difference in the wheel bearings? Probably not.

I've been running 20mm spacers for over 20k miles. I don't think there are any issues :bulgy-eyes: What symptoms should I be keeping an eye on for bad bearings?
