Something I always wanted to research -- do insurance companies allow you to elect insurance for aftermarket parts if you pay a higher premium?

I guess I could easily enough call my insurance company, but anyone know for sure?

Different companies have different policies. If you want coverage for the extra money you put into your car it can always be had at a price. At the very least you might want to document your mods with your insurance company in case you need to reconcile the replacement value with them.
