hey guys, what do you guys do to protect your wheels? i'm getting my wheels very soon and i don't wana take a chance with the thieves , do you use different lock nuts for each wheel or can they still saw that off? compustar alarms? whats the best thing out there to protect your wheels ?

I bought these, cuz the fit is really tight.
M12 x 1.25 13/16"

Standard crow would not fit, so I picked up a breaker bar w/ a 13/16" socket to get everything to work.
Good price on Amazon

Amazon.com: McGard 25254 Chrome Tuner Style Cone Seat Wheel Locks (M12 x 1.25 Thread Size) - Set of 4: Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/514xCaqlsrL.@@AMEPARAM@@514xCaqlsrL

You could also get an upgrade to your alarm, as in tilt/shock detection, but I think the locks are probably a good enough deterant. kinda hard to steal an FX without towing it.

It's a steel lugnut. Pretty strong stuff, but anythings possible. If they want the wheels bad enough, nothing you can do, besides sitting outside with rifle in hand is really gonna stop them. Most likely, the locks will be bitch enough for the common thief to probably just leave it alone. Dunno really . . maybe just be careful where you park, or get an alarm on top, or just wish that you have good luck. Then there's always insurance if you need to use it. Thieves just suck donkey dick alltogether.

It's actually 27.94 shipped, no tax. This is the best price I could find. It lists for 40.
You get one locknut for each wheel (that's all you should really need) & one luglock key, which you shouldnt store in the car.

12 X 1.25 is the thread size we have

ya i hate theives with a passion, and i guess your right if they really want it they well do what ever it takes, ppl are jealous nowadays of what you have

Some people just like to steal shit. No respect for anyone. It's a selfish world out there.

ohhhh what kind of wheels are you getting? or is it a surprise?

I have wheel locks and then the cover over all the lug nuts and wheel locks requires two different keys....so basically three types of keys would be needed....but im not worried, I sleep in the car with a rifle waiting....

that was a joke by the way

well for the wheels for that matter will be a suprise, i will post pics when i do get them, along with the h&r springs i bought off brown, so the guy is going to put both springs and wheels at the same time, but ya how mechanism where some one tries to touch ur wheels, you let out snakes from under your wheel well  or something poisonous that will bite the motherf***ker so he knows not to mess around haha

If I catch someone trying to see my wheels there will be a video of me sawing there heads off with a knife posted on the web. Similar to what the insurgents do in Iraq.

i had someone try to steal my wheels one time, took off the four lugs on the front passenger side only to realize that the 5th was a locking lug. guy on the back wheel wasn't so fast and only manage to get 2 off and started on the third. i come along the next morning didnt' notice anything strange and hop in and start driving. some of the worst sounds i've ever heard came from that front wheel while going the 30 feet that i went before stopping. luckily i had the windows open to hear it or it could have been real bad.

Sorry to bump an old thread.. I stumbled upon it while searching for wheel-theft-deterrents.

This exact same thing happened to me about 2 weeks ago. Someone tried to steal my wheels right out of my own driveway one night  (factory wheels at that)
I had only noticed that 3 of the wheel caps were missing so I assumed it was just some stupid kids. Took me about 5 days before I realized that they tried to steal the wheels when all but the one locking lug nut were missing (or eventually fell off) on my rear-passenger-side wheel.

I think I turned white when I realized the severity of what could have happened within those 5 days.

Had to go out and buy another set of lugs from Autozone and I'm still shopping around on finding replacement center-caps :tears:
