How do you guys feel about wheel locks ?

I always felt "Safer" having a set of wheel locks on my wheels. On the other hand if someone wants to steal your wheels they are going to take them Wheel lock or no wheel lock.

I want to get some new Lugs for my FX and Daily Driver Honda But a lot of the Lugs I like do not Offer Matching Wheel locks.

i would put them on. yes if they want to steal it they can but it will take them longer / they may think its too much of a hassle. personally i would get 2 sets of wheel looks per rim ( heck i considered getting every single lug nut a wheel lock lol but i wil get frustrated when it comes to change tires )

I have seen this vehicle running around town in Tampa Fl on the side of the vehicle it says RimLox. Its this new wheel lock that if you have them installed on your vehilce and someone steals your wheels they will buy you a new set of rims and tires. I am not sure how much the locks are but the concept looks pretty freaken awesome. The key for the locks connects to your key chain. Go to youtube and type in RimLox it will show more info. Sorry I couldn't give you more information but I just saw the promo vehicle the other day.

Agree with what Andrew said about if they wanted your wheels they can, but it just takes them longer and the hassles that they just going to skip yours.

Do you street park your car much? If you have an enclosed garage, it's not really much of an issue. In 15 years of owning aftermarket wheels, I've never had an issue even when I parked my car on campus without much security. I tried wheel locks once, then lost the stupid key, then had to wait for the company to mail me another. More trouble than it was worth. Right now I have very expensive wheels on my BMW and even with those, don't really feel the need to get wheel locks. I've taken a set off a friends car before using the socket method and it didn't take that long.

Only people I've know who had their wheels stolen lived in apartments without garages.

Sounds like an easy thing to abuse. Don't want your rims anymore? Just "steal" them and Rimlox will get you a new set. Probably why they went out of business.

^Cool idea, but I think Rimlox is out of business already.

They would have to link to the same system insurance companies use to track fraud. And probably only offer service to people with high credit ratings to prevent abuse.
I only have the stock rims, and use standard lock nuts. wont stop dedicated thieves, but its a deterrent, if a thief has options they will go path of least resistance.
