I can hear what I'm pretty sure is a front wheel bearing starting to go so I have ordered 2 new hub aasy's and plan on changing them out soon.
My question is I have to make a 150 mile round trip this weekend and was worried about driving that far before hub replacement. Do you think it will be OK?

My take on this, you should be fine. The worst would be you have to listen to the annoying grinding noise for 150 miles :smile (2):

When you do the hub, be careful with the ABS sensor. You have snow up there. I have a feeling that it will be seized in the knuckle. I happen to mine and I end up drilling it out. The sensor is another $140 added expense. That also happen to Ed (Chedman13) as well.

I think I gotta change mine too this noise sounds like a grounding sound while driving right?
You may want to jack the car up, grab the 12:00 & 6:00 position of the wheel/tire and rock it. If there's play, its bad; otherwise, it may just starting. If you can tolerate the grinding noise, there still some time before it really need replacing. It will eventually getting louder though.

edit: if you move ur steering wheel and it makes noise on the right, left side is busted

Yea I was thinking of doing this myself I have the tools and knowledge to do it myself but I can get it done locally at a trusted shop for 225.00 labor to do both hubs. I'm thinking it may just be worth it to have them do it and save myself some headaches.

Hahaha, I don't now about that. That time estimate is when you don't have to fight with a seized ABS sensor.

Are the roads pretty bad near where you are living?

For me, while living in a major city with frequent road upkeep, I didn't have a problem with the wheel bearing in my 10+ years of driving. However, when I moved to a small town with hash winters conditions, I go through a bearing every 2-3 years. Once, I went through 2 bearings from different corners in one year.

The roads can get bad at at times after snow plows tear things up plus most of my driving is on winding mountain roads at a good clip  putting considerable side load on hubs and I think running heavier wider 22" wheels may be a contributing factor as well.
