The evo is a great car, It handled Awesome and was fast as hell, But it all came with a price, Although the aftermarket was huge for the evo things weren't cheap.
If you ever decided you wanted to change something, You needed a tune, The stock Maf on these cars were real sensitive..
Just to give you can idea, I had an AMS intake, AMS boostcontroller(
set@21PSI),GSC 268cams, ARP headstuds, ETS front mount intercooler, Lower incooler pipe. 3"turboback exhaust and a tune..
Stock the cars would put down 220-230..now with the listed mod i did, i was at 330..So yeah a 100hp sounds awesome..but it cost about $2700...and thats just for the performance stuff..Not the suspension stuff i did and everything else i did.
The Evo 8s also had a lot of problems, Like at 60k the syncros would go(1400), The rear transfercase wine(2000) and you would need the waterpump and all belts done(1000)...i was almost there and decided to part out my car since i didnt want to spend even more on the car..
