Whats The Highest Milage on any FX

I know this is an old thread but i was kind of wondering where everyone is at...I'm at 212k on an 03'
I'm so glad to see this I have 110,000 on my 04 and plan on keeping her till the wheels fall off and then I'll put them back on.

i'm at about 170,000 miles now.. 2004 FX35 and solid as a rock. rides great. has her share of maintenance to deal with though..

any major problems or parts have to replace for anyone that hit over 150k or 200k?
I had to do my head gaskets around 162k but I think this is a problem unique to 03s. I also replaced my a/c compressor around 140k and recently my seat track broke. This was the second time my seat track broke, so I was a bit inventive and had a buddy weld it this time rather than pay $1500+ for the dealer to install a new one. All in all it has never left me stranded other than the overheating/head gasket issue. I am having an incredibly hard time deciding what I want next because I want more utility but the reliability has definitely spoiled me

I havent had the head gasket issue but here are others: i would link to my post on this but its not letting me..
Major repairs:
100km f.pass wheel bearing replaced
130-190km no problems just routine maint.
190km a/c condensor and associated expensive crap
190km new tie rod ends
220km, 230km, 236km 3 remaining wheel bearings replaced
233km battery replaced
240km spark plugs and boots replaced
251km new rear brake calipers
251km front and rear sway bar links
250-260km lock actuators on passenger front & back doors and tailgate very subject to not working at warm temperatures (over room temperature, that's warm here..)268km power steering died, still to be repaired.. I don’t drive much and strong arming doesn't bother me..
275km alternator replaced

140,00 no issues owned since new. Just decided to keep car & to go over car & replaced exhaust with Invidia cat back system ( Nice for the price ) , 4 drilled & slotted rotors new pads they were original rotors , a cold air set up, Wet okole front seat covers (drivers seat bottom was splitting in a few places on sides, did the DIY fix on gas gauge. Next on agenda is tires in spring , (hoses , belts & plugs which are original) & another in general look over. From reading these posts I believe a 250K car is possible by doing $2500 to $3000 of maintenance is well worth it compared to replacement at this time. If I remember right this car listed for like 45K (tech package AWD) in 03 when introduced and I purchased for 41K. Still second most expensive car I ever purchased next to 2002 Z06 that cost me 45K out the door.

Fyi the total cost for my maintenance since new was $13, 000!! Way off $3k.includes repair and regular mainenance but not tires.

FYI ! My maintenance for first 10 years I have no idea of cost other than 3 sets tires , approx. 25 oil changes , 4 sets brakes front, 2 back , 4 air filters , fuel injection cleaner approx 6 times a year & a couple batteries . What I said is I plan to put 2500 to 3K now to freshen up car & continue to drive it. (Exhaust 900. flanges rotting & shielding shot) ,( Cold air 200. not required but a very small performance mod ) 4th set Tires Firestone Se $825. M&B, brakes & rotors 300. seat covers 200. all done by myself except tires, totals $2425. Hoses, belts , plugs couple hundred bucks more (again self labor and 3 K to continue to drive car for many more miles is a lot cheaper than new car. Maintenance for first 10 years is probably half of your 13k number as I am able to do work myself, but maintenance goes for all cars and is determined by driving habits & use. Out of all things I listed only Exhaust, seat covers , cold air & perhaps the rotors are not normal maintenance items requiring yearly service. My goal is 250K unless major failure occurs & yes I do plan to have some wear items , steering parts/struts/water pump develop problems as car ages but for now all is good. All I will say is this FX35 has been most reliable car I have ever owned. In closing I am going to look into recalls for car & see what I should get done.

I would say we see the spectrum now.. mine was nearly 100% dealer maintained as it was a company car.. now that its mine I've seen repair costs are less than half. I've reviewed the invoices from early maintenance and was horrified to see how much the stealership charged for regular maintenance items. An hour each for front and back brake pads.. another hour EACH to machine rotors. An hour to change the drive belt?! Their rates are fine when its written off as warranty work!
That aside I think its a great car and I'm going to continue maintaning it myself I hope for many more years.

Charged, here's a specific example for comparison.. you're doing hoses belts and plugs for a couple hundred, my invoice from that job was $286 labour, $562 parts for plugs, coil boots, and one belt! $550(+tax!) for front pads and rotors replacement! I should stop looking through these old invoices.. lol.
I'm hoping to order my parts online in the future instead of going to the dealership.
