Hello, I'm hoping all the FX's out there can tell me what is involved in this service, I'd like to have my private mechanic do the job vs. a dealer, just would be nice to know what's involved/listed so I can type up a list for him to work off from.
Also, anyone know what a dealer charges for the service? (hours of labor) :rofl:just curious so I know roughly what I'll be saving on the labor cost.. thanks!!

Well delears will add shit load of things to that list.. From my point of view the main things to do are.

1.Transmission flush
2.Spark plugs
3.Engine belts

And if you haven't done it a radiator flush too.

Agreed.

Also if while doing all this you can get your brake fluids change and powersteering fluids too would be even better.

I have to do those 2 too.

does the brake fluid and pwsteering really brake (no pun) down after 60Kmiles?? I can understand the Tranny...

what brand plugs would you go with?

When I did a T flush and Radiator flush. The mechanic pointed out that my steering wheel fluids needed to be change. Look at it and if is not clear or if is too dark you need to change it.. Brake fluids are not that spencive so just to complete the whole fluids section on your fx go for it. I'll be running like new. Also I heard synteric brake fluids is really good..

a drain is just a transmission fluid change.. flush (i think) they pressurise fluids so i can clean everything on its pass.. and then they fill it up. thats why it take one full case of fluids to do it.

Transmission fluid change versus flush I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) is the difference between like 6 quarts and 9 quarts of fluid out then back in... (out of a capacity of about 10).

That's what I was told by the dealer. I was charged $135 at a Nissan dealer for just a fluid change when that $135 was quoted for a fluid FLUSH. Needless to say I was angry when I come back finding out they did a simple drain that I could've done myself.

Spark plugs.. I recently changed my spark plugs.. A week and 2 days ago. I went with the newer version of pulstar.. What I have notice with the new spark plugs,
1. Better fuel efficiency.
2. Better responce. The fx feel younger again.
3. FX feels like it have more power

Maybe because they are new spark plugs.. But either way I like them..

i got them from their website pulstar.com

just fill your vehicle information and they will send you the right plugs.

k cool. just warning ya.. i'm glad you are up to date. i had the same concern but since i have heard only great things from them.

yep.. as i said my FX feel younger and the have more pull.. i being screeching tires every time i make sharp turns. plus if you drive at a moderate speed you will get better MPG. i'm sorry but i'm all about the power.. only time i got great mpg was while driving on base.. speed limit 25-35 and mostly flat surface 27mgp. i was driving to NYC last weekend and i was getting 25.5 mpg a gallon at 65-70 and being really smart about pressing the gas.. city.. was horrible during rush hour in NYC i was getting 19-20.
