What you do to protect your driver’s seat?

Hi, Infiniti owners,

I was wondering how other Infiniti owners protect the driver’s seat to excess wear. I did search for some discussion about this topic, but no luck.

My FX (pre-owned) came with Wheat interiors. This color looks amazing but is hard to keep clean and any wear is noticed pretty fast. Because I don’t have children, I don’t have to worry so much about wear of passenger and back seats. I’m really worry on the drivers seat that with two years old the wear is noticeable mostly on left back rest.

I normally do leather clean and lubrication. Also I have a beige towel on drivers seat. The problem with the towel is that it is always loosed, falling and don't protect back rest. Normally I use jeans, so I avoid seating on the bare seat. Some friend had the same interiors and had to repair the driver’s seat because the jeans stained it.

I don’t want to put a seat full cover because this doesn’t looks good and the interiors loose style.

What you do to protect your driver’s seat?

Thanks :iS: members

Lol I also try not to slide in and out of the seat. It tends to wear the bolsters out.

Apply Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil and Leatherique Prestine Clean every four months and you'll be good.

this is easier to do when you have a small ass.......lol

So, you don't use anything else to protect from wear besides these cleaner and lubrication oil? You suggest that this may protect from jeans and other possible stains.

Thanks for your feedback. :smile (2):

i have wheat interior also and other than the leatherique cleaner solution every three months, I use Meguiars leather cleaning wipes (from autozone) and gently wipe the seats down every weekend and leave them for about an hour to soak. for an 05 model, my seats are in excellent condition. I haven't had to clean stains caused by jeans but i do think that the cleaning process for this problem is rather simple.

Thanks bleedinsuiit. Now I'm more oriented how to take care of them.

Great forum, great members!!!! Thanks :iS:

i personaly don't like putting anything! i clean it with a new clean wet towel...

My wish was have black interiors, but last November, I couldn't let pass to purchase this pre-owned 2009 FX Blue Slate (p.pkg, touring) with wheat interiors with less than 15k miles for $40k.

If today I pick a brand new FX, will be like yours Bubito (silver with black interiors). IMO silver color on cars and black interiors on FX rocks!!!.

My comfort with Blue Slate is that looks similar to black one and silver accents highlights very nice. Like many other cars, the black FX is the most impressive on the street when is clean.:smile (2):

PS> :iS: members could think $40k is expensive for a 2009 FX. Just to lets us know, here in PR we pay between 30-40% on taxes for luxury vehicles. :mad.:
