What other cars did you consider buying before the FX?

I think a lot of people love the free maintenance program deal that BMW offers on new vehicles. Don't have to worry about nothing except tires for 4 years or 50,000 miles. No other company offers that.

I was looking at the X5 and the SRT-8 Cherokee.. After doing an unsolicited poll to multiple guys that deal with all diff. high end/reg. cars on the daily all but one (he is a die hard Ford guy) said that if I wanted some speed without giving up reliability I should look at the FX.. It was kinda strange really cause I never threw out the FX to any of them. I have been a fan of BMW since I had my M3 and always thought I would go to an X5 but every guy I talked to said to stay away. Kinda broke my heart.. they knew I was a die hard too but they all steered me clear.. Out of all the diff. cars I've owned (Audi, Acura, VW, Pontiac, Ford, BMW, GMC, Buick, Geo (lmao), Jeep, Benz) My BMW was the only one that never had an issue.. Granted I replaced everything I could and supercharged it but I beat the poo out of it and it was solid.. I drove it bone stock for the first 2 years and it never went into the shop for a repair.. I can't say that about any of the other cars I have owned (only had the FX for 6 months so far but its been flawless so far)

I showed a friend of mine the FX one day and he asked me what year it was.. I said 2006 and he was like "wow, I wish my interior looked that good/new" he said his 2006 X5 looks like its way behind in tech. and just looks dated compared to my FX.. made me feel better about my decision..

Doesn't Toyota offer something similar? I saw it on tv I think but it's for two years

Yes, we have the Scion also and it has 2 years of free maintenance.

That cost of free maintenance is dirt cheap. If oil change is at a 10k interval then most likely first 2 years or 24k is just two oil changes and a tire rotation. Same goes for bmw's 4 years. They probably avoid the transmission and diff flushes bumping them just outside.

Tight call between the Acura MDX and FX for me. In the end the FX have more of a sporty luxury appeal where as the MDX is like blah, but still nice in it's own way.

I had my heart set on a x5 until my finance company didn't want to finance the one I was looking at(had a accident) then I was looking at a g35S coupe. It wasn't until my finance company called me in their office and showed me a picture of the fx 35. I have always loved that vehicle and knew how fast it was just totally forgot about it when looking for a new vehicle. After doing a little research I told my finance company lets go look at it and I was sold immediately. Love it

I was looking at GM vehicles like GMC envoy, glad I decided to get a Japanese car. The FX never fails to please me with the design and amount of mods available. Also the exhaust note and improved sound with Z Tube is aaaamazing!

Porsche Cayanne-Not as great as I expected. Kind of a let down
Cadillac SRX-Nice but just ok
Infiniti QX56- Liked it, but too big with only one kid lol
Audi Q5- Liked it, but liked the FX more.

I drove a Cayanne turbo not too long ago and thought the same thing. Not what I expected.

^^It was just a let down, felt like I was only paying for the "brand."

Ill stick to a 911 if I every buy a Porsche:tongue:

:plus1: was considering a Cayenne before I bought my FX. Would like to hear your thoughts guys.

Well, to start, although the interior is nice, the Fx seems more comforting.

The awd system felt sluggish. It's hard to explain, almost as if it takes an extreme amount of power to get it going. The one I drove was an S model so it had the V8. I can only imagine what the V6 felt like. Maybe this has to do with the smaller wheel, tire size that they run stock. Not sure.

Hi , I am 99% going to get FX in next couple months, my current car isn't due to hand back until August.
The 1% uncertainty is whether other cars could do me a deal that I could not refuse, LOL!
Apart from FX, I am also considering C63AMG estate, Audi A8 and Audi A6
