What is this part? Or does it even go on our car?

Please see the attached pics of this rubber "grommet/boot /..." I found it just kind of loosely lodged in the driver's side front suspension. I pulled it out because it didn't appear that it attached to anything that I could see. And it's not clear to me if it's a part of our cars or is maybe some road debris that somehow got caught up in my suspension.

Any ideas what this part is??

I wouldn't worry about it. Unless it's cut in 1/2, it didn't fall off. A mechanic might've pinned it in somewhere while working on the suspension and forgot about it.

Gotcha. Thanks & that last thought about a mechanic doing it inadvertently is very likely. I had taken my car to a mechanic for them to check this flopping/snapping sound I've been hearing from what appears to be the driver's side front wheel/suspension area. I know they checked a couple of things in that area, but were unable to locate the exact cause of the noise.
