Hi guys,

I'm trying to change my stuck head light to more brighter head lights and the same time i want to change my fog lights as well to match the head lights.
I have seen a lot of fog lights on ebay but have no idea which one is good to get.
any ideas.

any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Would recommend mtec brand bulbs for the headlights as well as mtec brand for the HID fog light. And if you want them to match make sure you get the same output rating, i.e., 4k, 6k, 8k.

There are a bunch of threads in this section on which bulbs and HID kits are used my members here. Try the search button or look at the tags.

And welcome to the scene!

thanks alot for the info and welcome :)
what output rating do you think is good in terms of brightness as well as look?

Thanks,

In order to get the brightest clear color is 6K

I am more partial to a blueish hue for my lights. I am running on a 8k set up (head lights and HID fogs)

The higher K you go with the less lumination you will get.

6k seems to be the k of choice.

I've done extensive research on the topic of HID lights. The BRIGHTEST color temperature is 4300K. They will put out roughly 3200 lumens. That is standard on all US model spec cars. Anything above and below that color temp decreases in lumens. If you want brightness, I'd recommend getting a set of 4300K fogs to match. You'll see an immediate improvement over stock.
Some though like the bluish hue and settle for 6K or even 8K, but that's pushing it on the lumen scale. My choice, if you can find them, a 5000K setup. It's the best of both worlds, slight blue hue and 2nd highest lumen output next to 4300K.

I have never seen anyone ofer a 5K set up.

good to know.. can you let us know where the member can get a set?

zcspec is absolutely correct on the highest lumens for the 4300K HID's.But for best looking and light output I would also recommend 6K which is slighly blueish.

Bert...it's pretty rare to find 5000Ks nowadays. Most resellers do 4300k, 6K and 8K.

***On a side note*** Dr, where did you do your schooling? LACC???

thansk guys for the reply . i think im gonna go down the path for getting 6k. can you guys direct me on somewhere on ebay or something to buy them , fogs and head lights?
