Wedding ring in defrost vent

A friend knocked their wedding ring into the defrost vent of a QX80 rental car. What is the best way to access to get it out? Ring is on middle passenger side. Is there an access door for fresh air under the hood where the windshield wipers are?

I would start with one of these, probably the cheapest and easiest solution. I hope it works!
