Water got inside my headlights

We had some pretty bad rain yesterday, i was going downhill and at the bottom the manholes were overflooded so the roads were just flooded across all 3 lanes with a median in between). i had no choice but to go thru it, i went very slow but the water still splashed up basically up to my windows.

the next morning i turned on my car in my garage and only my right side lowbeams came on. WTF. i went to the front and there was severe moisture build up in my headlights (on the left side) and my bulb was gone. i popped the hood opened the the back of the headlights and it was wet on the inside. the bulb had blown out.

i already ordered a replacement set of lights, but how could water have gotten into the housing? why only on the right side. i am pretty pissed...hopefully there are no electrical problems and only the bulb went out.

how will i get the moisture out of the housing?

it sucks even more because now i cant drive my FX at night with only one side of my lights working...gotta drive the x3 :embarrassed: till the lights come in

Was the light on after you went thru the water????
Dude that sucks......hope you get it figured out bro.

when i got home the light was still working, if it was out when i got home i would have realized when i didnt see the light beam on the wall. when i turned it on this morning the light was out...

Seems as if most of the moisture cleared out of the housing (i left the hood open). hopefully there is no electrical damage although water+electricity could have caused a serious problem.
