Was in an accident

bummer. I knew before scrolling down that this was gonna be costly.
I had front damage once & should have fixed it myself. It was much lower, in the tune of 2.5K. My premiums went up equally & I had to pay deductible. It was also me against a pole.
In your case, there's a chance of a lawsuit from the other party, so insurance all the way
 
I'm sorry to hear man, I wanted to meet up soon and have a mini meet.. Well atleast it wasn't as bad as my accident and consider urself lucky u didn't get hurt
 
Thanks guys. I am sure the adjuster will get the quote down a bit, but definitely quite costly. I actually couldn't believe how expensive it is to fix, but there are a lot damaged parts. I am hoping my premium doesn't go up too much, but we will see. @mbarb - hopefully I'll be back in action soon so we can set up a mini meet.
 
Well, after a long term of events, my beloved FX is gone. After a week of researching, and searching, I ended up trading her in for a certified 2011 Audi S4 with 30,000 miles. It was between the S4, and a 335i xDrive. In the end, although more expensive, I chose the S4 for a few reasons. The interior felt far superior to the 335 and performance felt better as well. On top of those things, I got killer deal on the S4 and a trade-in offer I could not refuse. I am very sad to see the FX go, but with 110,000 miles, no warranty, and now with an accident on its record, it was time. I have wanted an S4 since I was 15 years old, when I wanted a B5, and I was finally able to afford one. I pick it up on Tuesday. See below for pics. I parted out what I could so I will have many parts for sale in the classified section soon so keep an eye out. I've have been lurking on the bimmer and audi forums for a while now and none of them compare to IS. I'm pretty sure I will still check this site more than any of the others. Although I don't have any immediate plans to mod it, I will make a thread so you can see anything I do end up doing to it.

Of course not. I took of the GTR's and spacers, GT spec braces (minus the strut bar since I couldn't open the hood), HKS exhaust, and the weathertech window deflectors.

I traded the car in without getting the damage fixed and ended up getting almost the same as I would have if it was in perfect condition with no accident on the record. Insurance agreed to give me the full $8,200 minus deductible so in the end I got more money than I would have gotten if I repaired the car and sold it privately.

I'm also a bit sad, I love the FX and IS. Will do about the braces.
