warping dashboard?

FWIW i've got the same issue with our 04.

Dealer refuses to cover it under basic warranty, claims any damage related to 'exposure' isn't a warrantable item. Hopefully they're willing to find me an Infinity brand umbrella so I can operate my infinity outdoors :neutral:

Has anyone had any luck calling Infinity directly and getting them to cover something a dealer's refused? Does infinity have a customer service line?

I can't post a link to a photo (i'll revisit this once i've got 10 posts) but it's more severe than any other FX i've seen. The dash surrounding the nav screen is disfigured, and the remainder of the dash has what looks like a pock-mark randomly distributed all over, and around each of the vents. Our FX is only 3 years 7 months old, it was sold in 05 as a left-over and is still covered under the basic 4 year, but i'm being told it's not a warranty issue.

Update: Just got my dash replaced. I would fight with any dealer if they refuse to cover it. That is just wrong for a manufacture to deny something that is defective.
PS i don't have pics but mine was way worse that what you have. :4tongue:

Update, Infiniti's agreed to replace the dash. Thanks all!

Nice! No issues with mine, since my replacement. But its only been a couple of months.

Noticed mine has the same issues around the vents and on top of the screen.

I'm taking my FX to get the Window Molding replaced under warranty and I'll have them replace the dash as well.

The dash I have now is about a year old.







The weather here doen't help at all. I have to pay to get the next dash right before i leave. My warranty expired last year. It should cost about $500 for a new one. Hopefully I can talk my rep into getting the work done for free. They owe me a favor for jacking up my A/C.
*For some reason the tech forgot to screw back the nut for the A/C pulley when they replaced my fan belt.*

I got the clear UV tint on the car now so I'm just waiting till right before i leave here to get the dash replaced.

The last dash i had before this one was cracked. The sun is not friendly to our dash board.

Recommend if you do get a sun guard, to get one that is a perfect fit. Especially if you leave your car out in the sun. MAKE SURE IT'S RIGHT ON THE GLASS. If there is any space it will create more heat and cook the dash.

Trust me I know.
