So after bragging about how trouble free my FX has been for 218k, last week some of the warning lights came on and my gauges, heat/ac, 'manual' shift and cruise control all stopped working. One shop has told me that they traced it to a CAN line, but that to further diag it could take an entire two days(possibly longer, though they've never taken longer) at $150/hour plus whatever the cost to repair would be.....It's now in the hands of another shop after they kind of rubbed me the wrong way asking things such as 'how much are you willing to put into it to diagnose it?' and then when i said I'd just pick it up they pressed me to let them work on it for another hour as if they knew they could find the problem in an hour and were really just trying to get me to commit to extra hours of 'labor' diagnosing the issue. Anyway, just wondering if anyone has any knowledge to share with me as this whole ordeal has been kind of frustrating.
