Had this on the .org.. Wanted to post it here as well..

We get the question every day.. What cai, what mod etc.. Well here's a little compilation of what I felt on each mod:

1) Stillen CAI with Z-tube:
- The sound definitely increased and became more beautiful but I felt like the sound at higher rpms were more vibrating plastic than engine.. Gotta tighten the clamps good..
2) MD 5/16 plenum:
- The mid range starting from 3500-4000 opened up really good. The sound was a little deeper as well but I loved the mid range. Couldn't keep holding the FX at 3000 and kick it down all the time View attachment 153249
3) Stillen Headers:
- The change in sound was simply WOW! It got significantly deeper and especially the sound after 3500 became like a race engine.. You can also hear the gases flowing when you go WOT when it's cold.
- This one opened up 3500-4000 pretty good as well. I felt it doubled the effect of the plenum spacer
- Stillen has one "blip" at about 4200-4500. The revs go up and down in milliseconds and it might annoy you if you are very much into details. I am but the performance overcame that..
4) Kakumei Y-pipe
- I didn't feel anything significant with this one. The revs felt a little freer but it was so small that it was negligible. The sound got a little deeper and the source moved from the intake to a bit more from the mid-exhaust..
5) APS Y-back Dual 2.5" exhaust
- The sound got incredibly deeper thanks to the mufflers. The sound at low range is a lower frequency (deeper) rumble and at the high range it just screams like a GT car.
- The engine started revving much faster, especially after 4000. It just slams you in the seat. It feels exactly like it was before at the low range though. This basically means, IMO, that there's not much hp/torque gain between 2000-4000. If you go with a smaller dimension pipe, you'll gain some at that range but lose at the top a bit.
6) +2 Timing Advance
- Now this was almost the best of all. The throttle feels much more responsive and you can feel the additional power. If you don't worry much about the lost mpg and using higher octane gas, do it!

I will be doing Berk Hi-Flow cats and possibly a stock sized crank pulley as well. Will update the thread then.. In the mean time, any feedback is welcome..

Is your APS 2.5" the dual or? You mentioned the Y pipe first, did you end up doing the full APS?
It's not true dual version. I got the Single Turbo one, extended it and bolted it up to the Kakumei Y. It's pretty similar to Stillen now with two Y-pipes.

Nice, I had purchased one of those during my build. I ended up selling it because well I can't remember why. I was wondering if it was the dual cause the dual set up does not have a x pipe there. Using the Y pipe is nice! Very clean set up, APS impresses me with their quality of the stuff they make.

ege got the UR full stock size pully kit on and i love it....!! It has a great throttle response and gives me that bit more i needed in lower end.

What is your opinion on the throttle body spacer. I kinda mounted it the same time with the other parts so maybe i'm prasing the wrong parts ;-)

Good news on the pulley set.. I bought the stock size crank and returned it unfortunately.. :frown: My situation in US wasn't clear at the time and my installer refused to install it so I didn't do it.

Next in line for mods is the Berk High Flow Cats and the GTSpec braces though. Got the work visa finally

I think its a mixed review on that TBS. Some of the members say its great while others say its a piece of crap. I have it on my car, and when it was installed I didnt feel a thing. I since had the car tuned by technosquare and I just left it on the car since they already tuned it with the spacer on the car. But my initial reaction was that it didnt do damn thing.

Heyyy good for you...!! :top: so we can expect the pully to be ordered soon i gues then
Keep me posted on your cats would ya...?! Very interested on knowing how that works out for you.
And the braces are now available i understand.....?? Great...!! Good luck with those as well, you'll love it...!!

Did you told the guys from Technosquare about the spacer...?? I want to flash my ECU as well but don't exactly know what things i have to tell them. I read so many details as to higher your rev's plus your timing, or do these guys know all that already....?!

The TBS will change the Air Fuel, so yes, tell them you have it. Will & I did not need to tell Tadashi we had it, cuz he Tuned with it installed. He will know what to adjust for it. We dyno'd with & without TBS, & saw a small gain on my FX. TBS is in red, & this was before we did our tuning.

Hi Dave,

Is it true that the gear they do the dyno doesn't matter? I just got mine done yesterday and they said that they did it in 3rd gear at 6500 rpm. I did it just so I have a Before and After going to Tadashi.

Each Dyno is different - and each day is different.
Basically gives you an idea of where you're at.
Theres too many variables really......some dynos read higher/lower than others.

I hope I'm not offending anyone. I was not trying to go for who's size is bigger. I was just referencing. I'm waiting for the fax to arrive and will post. I have much to learn and far go to get to you guy's dust.

much respect.

Agreed. That 262 seemed way high first I heard it, but I guess anythings possible

Yeah rumor is I paid for those numbers.....:crossedlips:
When Bert wasnt looking I gave Tadashi a $5 bill and he rigged the graph for me.:top:
