Want it: Fisker Karma

I call dibs on the Spidero's if the FX goes up for sale.

 You'll probably get dibs on everything if the FX goes on sale since you're probably the only local guy who's actively modding.. The front brakes are on & 06 brakes are in my trunk, fyi.. Let me know if/when you want to try them on..

edit:
when does it come out? how much?
$ 80K and first batch gets delivered mid 2010. It's not that good a deal here in US but if you think the gas prices are $7 a gallon in Turkey, it's a pretty good deal  If you think that we fill up a 20 gal tank every week, it makes about $140 a week and about $600 a month. In just a year, it's about at least $7000 in savings.. 5 years and you already halved the value of the car.. :.smile:

thats good news for me. the one time it might actually pay off to be an east coast modder. i think i'm gonna hold off for the brakes right now. i talked with turbo and he says that they didn't really increase stopping power, just beefier rotors to prevent warping.

This car is sick! isn't this the one that has solar power panels in the roof?

"Like just about everything with a Fisker badge on it, this sedan is breathtaking to look at. But, surprisingly, there's much more to the story. This sedan, called the Karma, is a plug-in hybrid that Henrik Fisker claims can travel up to 100 miles on a single gallon of gas.
Moreover, using a hybrid module - called Q-drive and co-developed with Quantum Technologies - it can travel up to 50 miles on battery power alone. Combined with its four-cylinder gasoline engine, the big sedan can cover about 620 miles on a tank. Fisker claims a 0-to-60-mph time of 5.8 seconds and a sustained top speed of 125 mph. The Karma offers two driving modes; Stealth mode prioritizes electric operation for maximum economy while sport mode puts the performance of the Karma closer in line with the way the sedan looks. Fisker was very proud of the fact that the Karma also sounds fantastic, "a mix of an F1 car and a jet plane."
Under the beautiful skin is an all-new platform that allows the battery pack to be positioned at the center of the vehicle. This should improve handling by keeping the weight from hanging off of either end. Fisker says deliveries of the $80,000 sedan will begin in the fourth quarter of 2009"

Freakin gorgeous. Stole a bunch of LED looks from Audi... expensive...

How would you compare this to the Tesla Roadster? One of these and a Tesla would be awesome.

Sounds all to good to be true? Fisker design, 4 door luxury hybrid, 600+ miles per tank, 0-60 in less than 6s, 125mph top end, sounds like an F1 car, only $80K...c'mon Henrik you have been known to tell porkies in the past?? I'll wait to see the production version before I pass judgement. But that rear 3/4 looks freakin' awesome. This could be amazing...

Tesla doesn't have good cornering abilities (compared to an elise)...but destroys the 1/4 mile and striaght aways. When watching the Top Gear episode, it kept running out of juice WAY before the stated range of 200 miles (yes they were hard on it)

This is definately the car to watch out for if all the statements about its performance are anywhere near correct. We have to see how the road test are going to fare.

Tesla 200 miles $109,000
Kharma 600 miles....$80,000 = no brainer

Production? Pretty much the same.. I'd wait out to see the issues.. Tesla had gearbox issues in their first run and Fisker will probably have financial issues unless they have a good backup of venture capital.

In that episode, they actually didn't run out of juice, they just showed it like that. There were new all over jalopnik and autoblog about that..
