well I just installed walbro 255 fuel pump on 2005 fx35. After that I hear a hissing noise.
When i turn on ignition i hear a hissing noise from near the rear seat and rear wheels(out side). It is too loud. Any suggestions on what it might be?

dynamat under the rear seat & then a layer of acoustic foam can help a lot, as well as a sheet of lead if you can find it...

pretty easy, lift the bottom of the rear seat out & unscrew the round cover on the pass side, lift out the whole pump/float assy, then swap the pump & reinstall

I can find lead sheets. but it will be heavy

also you can try to use rubber mounts for the mounting bracket for the fuel pump.

I've used two walbros on my eclipse, the 190 was silent but the 255 whines. You only notice it when the ac, stereo, etc is off and the vehicle is not in motion. Sorry but I don't have any sugestions for quieting it, I just put a layer of dynamat under my back seat to supress it a little...

If you have a lot of engine mods (supercharger, turbo, etc.), you need extra fuel. More than the stock pump can flow. All high output fuel pumps are loud. I had a Walbro 255 in my old turbo Maxima and it was loud, but during normal use not that noticable. Let's face it, most cars running these pumps are already loud. I know that I barely ever heard mine during driving, but I had no cats or resonators in my exhaust either. The Walbro was probably a little quieter than the Vortech T-Rex aux. fuel pump that I tried out as well.

I'll be joining the loud fuel pump club if I ever get a tune for E85

I have a big ass roll of dynamat but I refuse to add any weight to the already heavy Evo, and would rather strip sound deadening out than add more.
