just picked up a set of the rh06 for my 22's for supercheap price pretty interested how how they will compare to the pirelli's which by no means I am comparing in snow but overall wet and dry and handling.

Hankooks have too much grip in da rain. I never get to have fun anymore. :frown: Maybe it's just because they are 295's.

The wider the tire the less grip it has in rain, but more grip in dry.

How do you figure this? Not disagreeing, just wondering.
great deal - did the tires arrive without a problem? i'm thinking about grabbing these for such a good price while they're still available. i was also thinking about seeing if i can get town faire tire to beat it. they're always good about beating any advertised price by 5% and including free mount & balance for the better price.
yes wider tires = more surface area+water= more displacement of water + speed= hydroplane.

the nitto 420's are nice, great thread pattern just not too confident with them in the snow. I have a set on my stockers.

I read is somewhere + i felt same way on my BMW x5. I had 315 tires ;-) they handles super super nice in dry,they were like glued to the road,but when in deep rain,tires due to being super wide were not able to remove all water quickly and were very hydroplanning often if turn sharp. It doesn't happen with 235 tires i had or 265 on BMW ;-)

I just voted and broke the tie between Hankook and Yokohama, though I've only ever used the Yokos and mine are siped so I don't really know how valuable my opinion is on the matter. FWIW the Paradas have been great for me. They give a smoother ride, are WAY quieter, I can't get them to break loose at all on wet or dry pavement, and they handle snow very well. I'd guess that I've gone through around 18" of powder before, and have bombed up the completely frozen snowy road to my local snowboarding slope many times without any problems. I can definitely break them loose in the snow, all four if I really try, but it's very predictable and easy to control. Last time I was up at the mountain I was drifting (just barely) around corners at 30-40mph and lived to tell the tale... :skull:
If I had to list a complaint I would say that the braking on snow or ice can be frighteningly sub-par at times. Though again, I haven't ever had snow tires so I don't really have anything with which to make a comparison.
Not having experienced any other aftermarket tire, I would absolutely recommend the Yokos. They are 50x better than the OEM tires and very reasonably priced.

Steel - I got the tires from California within 5 business days without issue. If you can get Town Fair to price match that would be a awesome deal. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with TF in the past and vow never to go back there. I took the tires to the dealer and had them mount, balance, and perform an alignment. In total I spent 220+619 which I thought was a reasonable price.

I just put a set of Yokohama YK520s on last month, and so far they've been an excellent tire (especially for the price)! They've handled the snow fairly gracefully, they've done a pretty decent job of shouldering the mid-corner punishment that I subject them to. Now to just get rid of those two pesky Kumhos in my basement...

i've had a couple of not so great experiences w/town fair also, but nothing involving safety etc. it's really been more customer service type issues. i still always make the effort to get them to price match if possible. i have one only a few miles from my house.

in votesI've had the NT420s before and liked them at first, but they became really noisy after a while. That was my only complaint with the Nittos. They handled very nicely and had a nice aggressive tread pattern. For some reason, they also looked more meaty than Yokos I have now.
I voted for the Yokohamas because I am running on the Paradas and so far so good. They are quiet and have great grip both in wet and dry. Also, did farely well two winters ago in dallas snow/ice. Well.. I don't have much experience with driving on ice and snow, so I guess it did well because I didn't slide much.

Where did you order them from Beast? I was at Discount Tire last week and I'm having a really hard time getting sizes in 285/35/22 like you. They told me Hankook discontinued that size for 22, Pirellis, Kumhos and Nittos 420s are not availiable either or back ordered. That leaves me with Falkiens or Yokos only. I have Yokos on my 20s and want to try a new tire for 22s. The store associate called all of these vendors and that's what they told them. Tire Rack doesn't have much selection that is available either.
