I am trying to cover my roof with black vinyl and am wondering if there are any of you that have done this before? It seems like its going to be a pain in the ass but I like the look and have already received the wrap. If any of you have done this before I would appreciate your input. Thank you.

I say get some help, meaning get an extra hand because you will have to pull and stretch to get it to lay down nicely without bubbles. check out the online vids and you will see. I thought about it as well but I am afraid I should leave this to the pro's although I am a do it yourselfer, I know when I am over my head.

like Beast said get an extra hand or two if you can. Also you need one of those heat guns or whatever their called. Make sure your in a garage or something with a lot of light so you can see if you have any bubbles or anything like that.

I helped my friend cover his g37 roof with matte black vinyl

YouTube - Audi A4 Black Roof Decal Wrap Installation

Ya I have a friend that has helped me do stuff on my car and we have installed vinyl on other parts of the car, so I know how much of a pain it is. I have the stuff sitting here in my house not getting used because I’ve been quoted $350 just to install it (which is BS). So I’m just thinking of going for it. There are not many places that will install it for me here in SD that don’t want an unreasonable price to do so. I already have all of the equipment needed.

Thank you for the video. I have been having a hard time finding a good video to use as a reference.

no problem if you were close to LA i could of hookwd you up. That youtube page has a lot of DIY for wrapping.

IvoRoyFX has done the vinyl roof. looks sick with flat black wheels on his Pearl FX. I shopped for this service in dallas and I was given a $500 quote. so i decided to wait. It's not a one man job, that's for sure.

You can PM me some places. I haven’t done it yet cuz I’ve been trying to work up some courage. it about 1 hour to LA from here and I go that way quite a bit so any help that you might be able to give me would be appreciated. :smile (2):
