VHT to smoke my tails

it's too dark... try to spray light coats & it looks uneven & blotchy, by the time you get good enough coverage to look even it'll be pretty dark, cutting a lot of light. a ticket waiting to happen, not to mention visability going way down... much better to have a body shop tint them, may cost over $100 but can be done to be a light tint, enough to look good but not enough to make it so dark like vht will be...

that product is horrible. Please splurge and get a body shop to paint them
I've also seen the VHT dry sorta flat looking if you don't apply enough coats... then when you apply enough coats like others have said it will be too dark. There are numerous vinyl materials out there that work better. Might require removing whatever your tinting but it will look better (more professional) when your done.

or, go the best route and get it professionally painted!
Actually VHT Nite Shades can be done light and done right.
It does require several coats and plenty of wet sanding with high grit. Put on 2 light coats and let dry, wet sand with 2000 grit gently, go back at it with 2 more light coats and let dry, wet sand with 2000 grit gently again, then put on the clear coat. When the clear coat (if you do 2 or 3 light coats, whatever you do) dries, buff it out. The end result should be a light, even smoke and very glossy.
You DO need clear coat though because as others have said, Nite Shades is a very flat finish.
