Verizon iPhone and 1st Gen FX Bluetooth Issue

Replaced my Blackberry Storm with a new Verizon iPhone. Blackberry worked fine in my 2007 FX for making and getting calls. Now with the iPhone, when making an outbound call with voice commands via phonebook, the call is placed, but the I am not getting sound through the speakers. If I grab the phone, the caller is there but I have to use the phone to hear them.

I tried deleting all phone, repairing the new phone and resetup the phone book. Same issue. Any ideas?

Also, if you have the same setup, can you at least confirm this is working for you so I can start looking at my phone hardware as the issue?

Thanks!

Apparently I (and anyone else who buys an iPhone 4) am screwed...I found multiple discussions on Apple dot Com about this and it flat out does not work reliably.

I also contacted my local Infiniti service department and got this BS answer, "...because your phone is brand new the technology may take awhile before Verizon can alter your new phone to match the Infiniti. You need to speak to them, and see if that is in the works. Thanks!"

My comment was not meant to be sarcastic. Just pointing out that sometimes not all technologies advance at the same pace. You may have to wait or live with the choice you made.

So as a temp measure, I went out and bought a Jabra Cruiser 2 Bluetooth (clips to the visor) and it won't connect it the iPhone reliably either. Have to power it on and off several times to get it to connect. Another co-worker is having the same issue with his Bluetooth headset and the iPhone 4. It is a global issue with these new phones apparently.

Just an FYI - beware of the iPhone if you rely on Bluetooth. I have to carry the darn thing for work, so I am stuck with it.

Must be a 1st generation FX problem. My iphone 4 works great in my 2010 FX. It auto connects, makes and receives calls fine and clear, transfers the phonebook and all.

i have a 2007 fx35 and have had several generations of the iphone. I have never had an issue with connectivity. I am currently using an AT&T iPhone 4 and can autoconnect and access my phone book via bluetooth. I dont use the bluetooth option very often due to the horrible sound quality.

Att iPhone works great. Verizon is not :-( it is just different iPhone hardware inside. Att iPhone 4 worked great in my friends g35 2006(old body style)

I have the Verizon iPhone and also experincing the same problem with my 07. I would use the phone book to make the call and then it would hangup on me. Then when I tried to redial, the voice command would tell me I don't have a phone connected. Often time I would also not get my incoming calls to sound off with the onboard speakers. This is very annoying to say the least.

I have a 2003 so no Bluetooth altogether =)

My 2006 BMW has the same issues, as Pierce said, the early tech seems to not work well.

My friend's new Nissan Sentra works flawlessly with any Bluetooth phone.

I am holding a small hope that iOS 4.3 may address this, but am doubting it.
