Vehicle Won't Start - Battery is good

Hello all,

My 2007 FX35 with 60K miles randomly won't start, it started up fine 2 days ago and today I tried to start it and the engine doesn't turn over. At first I thought it is the battery so I charged it, no dice. Then I tried to start the vehicle by boosting it with another vehicle and still no dice. I also took the battery to have it tested and it is in good condition.

I am thinking now that it is the starter, I have noticed some variance in sounds when trying to start the vehicle. Initially, there was NO sound at all when trying to start the car, the all dashboard lights come up fine, radio works, etc. If I keep trying to start the vehicle I noticed that I begin to hear a slight whine from the front of the vehicle (assuming it is the starter) and then it starts making a slow clicking sound, and if I continue to crank then the clicking sounds become very quick. I have tried this 5-6 times now and even if I keep cranking when the clicking is going fast it does not start.

If someone can help me diagnose this issue it would be great, I have a feeling that it is the starter. Let me know what you think.
 
Smack the starter with a mallot or something simillar. Give it a few good hits and re-try.

Report back if that doesn't work. I wouldn't be surprised if it does work. If the problem re-occurs you need a new starter or a starter rebuild.

Thanks do you know where the starter is located on the FX? Also, is it accessible through the top (under the hood) or only if I am underneath the car?
