VDC Off after hard acceleration

Started happening 1 week ago, when I accelerate hard, the dash shows "VDC OFF" and it stays off until I turn the engine off and back on. My brakes are due for service so I am wondering if this is related to the brakes ? Please advise so I can save on "scanning fee" by the dealer to tell me something obvious. :rotfl:
 
Maybe brake fluid?

Mine was low before than sometimes when I would accelerate hard the brake fluid moves around in the reservoir and would activate the sensor since it was low. It was making the car think it was completely empty. Filled it up and the light went away.

That would make sense, if the pads are really low, the fluid might indicated it is probably on the low side right ?
