VDC & AWD Fully Off - How To

I think the difference will be so slight that you've got a much better chance of affecting your fuel economy by just not stepping on the gas so hard. the majority of difference in fuel consumption between rwd & awd is going to be the add'l weight & the add'l rolling resistance of the front axles & front diff, regardless of if the front drive is engaged or not up to 12mph... don't think the difference will be so measurable, but really there is only one way to find out for sure :)

Just took out the fuse that was specified ... it works :) ... the car does feel a bit quicker ... then again i feel more control with the AWD ... I did a few rounds on the road ... i put the fuse back again ... i would love to keep the car on "RWD mode" .. but im afraid somthing will go wrong ...

If the first gens have ATTESA as well and will disengage front when hits certain speed, then I'm not too sure why we're pulling the fuse and it being felt faster?

Be great if someone can educate me :)

Just tried this for fun and to experience a rwd fx.

well, it so happens right as i pulled out the fuse it started pouring and i smiled. Did an effortless standstill burnout for ~3-4 seconds before i whimped out and further destroy my tires. Man, rwd fx is FUN.

i spoke to my mechanic ... he said there should be no problems if i remove the fuse ... then again ... i dont trust the mechanics were i live ... they will say anything:confused.: ... i really like that i can switch to RWD ... BTW is it safe if we remove the fuse while the car is still running (Not moving ... but in park?)

Weird, my phone must have bugged out during the reply upload... What I meant to say was:

Nice. Assuming it's not turned off, does VDC still function in "rwd mode"?
