VDC and SLIP lights come on at 45mph

those 3 screws do have a little adjustment to them, & I've noticed that there usually not so centered & level from infiniti, but not so noticable with just the turn & wiper stalk, once the paddles go on though it is noticable if it's off, dr2k mentioned to me that his paddles weren't 100% level, but I know I built them perfectly level,at the time I couldn't figure out why. it took me doing a few of these to realize why, I think I added to the guide about adjusting this, so you slotted the holes even more? what area did you have to trim, not the plastic on the right?

yeah, I discovered this after on my third set, funny mine were the first & they were aligned perfect so I never needed to screw with that, but every one I've done after have been off a little bit. didn't have the heart to tell you to take it all apart to adjust the paddles again though after  you could if you have the patience & it bothers you though, it is a big help in lining up the paddles to the inner cover too but I guess you got your clearances good anyway...

Its not bothering me all that much, just only visually a bit. Everything else is fine. I may one day if I'm bored, lol. So for future reference if I wanted to align the paddles perfectly, all I would need to do is loosen those 3 screws and just manually do the adjustment?

yeah, take it all apart, lossen those screws so the plate can move with pushing, but not loose to move on it's own, then slide the switch assy back on & line it up. when it's lined up slide the switch assy back off & tighten the screws, check to see if it didn't move, if all straight reassemble

I didn' even have to do that. I loosened the screws though the Steering wheel hole. I never had to unplug anything except for the Airbag. Mine was off about 1/4 on an inch. I noticed this while looking at the +/- sign on the paddle shifters. The wheel looked level, but on one side I had about and inch of the paddle showing and on the other side I only had a tip. I did not need to make any changes to the whole. The reason it's not noticeable before we put on the paddle shifters is that the top of the assy. is covered by the Steering wheel and all we can see is the signal and the wiper sticks.

update....

The steering wheel is as straight as it can be, but the lights are still on. however, the now come on when the ignition is turned on. I'm gonna take it to the Alignment shop tomorrow and make sure they realign the whell with the steering. next stop is the Dealer for recaliberation of the sensor.

Mystery Solved!!!!

It turns out that the only peace that we get to keep during installing Paddle Shifter 1.0, was the problem.

"Spiral Cable/Angle Sensor" is the piece that transfers all the cables from behind the steering wheel to front. This piece spins freely onto itself and it also Contains a Senor that keeps track of the angle of the steering wheel.

Although this part is Keyed, and can only be installed 1 way, the part that spins, can also be installed 180 degrees upside down.

So that was it. When I took out the Angle Sensor, I installed it 181.2 degrees upside down. The dealer was concerned that why this happened and immediately noticed the Paddle shifters. After I assured them that I had taken the FX to the Alignment shop and the Steering wheel is now straight, they recalibrate the Sensor. I drove the car for 1/4 mile exceeding 45MPH and the lights turned off.

if you keep everything straight & lined up through the install like my instructions say that wouldn't happen, why you gotta go spinning stuff man
Tell me about it. I had no idea what might happen. Plus, I really thought that someone would think of putting a third tab on there to keep it from going in upside down.

As they say, live and learn.

Glad you fixed it . . . but that still doesnt solve my sometimes stuck light. Can you solve that too?

Why don't you try the dealer? Isn't yours under warranty. I took mine in the other day around 4:30pm. They hooked up the code reader and told me what it was. The reason they did not fix it then was because my steering wheel was not striaght.

At least they can tell you what it might be.

I would if I ever went there. First wanted to see if anyone else ever gets the hanging light after driving it hard.
