UTR CF Intake Tube

Does anyone have this in there FX? GTO-Dave? (I think yours is a little different)

The problem I have is the tube does not have the same bend as the Stillen Z-tube (more "S" shape). It seems to rub on the side where the Brake fluid compartment is.

I am going to order a new coupler , similar to Daves' setup. But any input would be appreciated.

Actual Pic of my Engine (sorry, dirty engine compartment)

coupler I am planning on buying:

As of now I have reinstalled the Z-tube back in. Once I get this figured out, I will be selling my Stillen Z-tube.

I'm using the UTR CF z-tube, same as Dave. I have a hump hose (1 hump) at the throttle body and the oem accordion hose at the air box. The hump hose is slightly bent for the tube to not come in contact with anything.

I really cant remember but I think there is a UTR cf tube made for the Z and one for the G35. I think they are made a bit different in shape. I had a bit of a problem when I first installed the tube. UTR sent me all necessary tubing to make the tube fit, so a different coupler my help.

Looks like you have the S tube for the G. UTR made an FX specific tube with only one shorter bend. Also has a hump type coupler.

I think I can cut the tube to reduce the angle. Will use the stock accordion piece.

What should I use to cut the carbon fiber? I was thinking a electric band saw?
or pay someone (?) to cut it.

Will the CF be brittle? or be like fiber glass?

Somebody stop me. Is there a pill I can take???

at least you admitted your problem..

(BTW, did you install your CF tube backwards on purpose? or is that the right way? ) the picture you have on the Samco thread.

That is the correct way. The angles would be all wrong if you do it backwards. Plus, the Hose on top will not reach. I saw your picture, and i though you may have installed yours backwards.

now Im confused, I have compared the UTR tube from GTO-dave and Babaluwee and they both have the small tube on the bottom (just like the Stillen Z-tube I have now).
Here are some pics to compare...

I still haven't installed the CF tube, waiting for the Hump coupler. I will try to install it like yours to see, but as you can see, all the pics looks different from yours.

Now that I look at it, you maybe right. I could have sworn that I followed the instructions correctly. It's been over 2 years since it's been there. The connector does trun arround and if it's pointing down, I guess it would reach. I might try it their way since the black tube wont show.

But never the less, I think yours is different. The some thing about he bend.:err:
