Clueless.
After reading several posts concerning the after market Ipod interface installation, I decided to try my hand at it. Well, I purchased the USA Spec PA15-NIS which I thought was compatible with my FX35 (2006 FX35, No SAT, Radio and CD/DVD buttons only). I used the 20 pin cable but strangely, I couldn't use the 12 pin cable on 20pin harness, so I left it unattached (according to the manual). I connected the twenty pin to the first bank of connectors on the back of the head unit. I selected the DIP switch for Fold/Direct mode.
Once I put everything back together, I went through the setup procedure. I turned on the Iphone, switch to Ipod mode, selected a track and plugged in the interface adapter. I received a message asking whether or not I wanted "Airplane Mode". I selected no and turned on the radio. The Ipod locked up and stop playing. None of the radio controls worked. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Help!!!
