I need help getting the part number for the rubber seal between the windshield and cowl grill. mine is peeling up at the edges and is so sunbaked that it is more like a piece of plastic than rubber at this point. it has been allowing dust in and when it gets wet i end up with a bunch of mud/slime under it. i have been looking at parts diagrams but i cant seem to find a number for this seal. has anyone replaced that part?

I think the seal you're referring to might be attached to the cowl which is 2 pieces. I've had mine off too many times. The seals that wrap the cowl away from the windshield are located under the hood and there are 3, one fender to fender and the other 2 around the battery and brake boxes. Those are replaceable but I don't think the cowl to windshield is. I'm willing to bet infiniti's going to charge a couple hundies for these pieces. Try ebay or a bone yard.

The lower cowl / weatherstrip is sold separately, but the site I use didn't have any in stock and therefore didn't list the number... And the upper weatherstrip is shaped like an upside-down U that goes around the top and sides of the windshield...

its the 2 piece one that is attached to the cowl. onthemove are you just running without one or is yours still in good shape? after checking out your thread i am guessing your car has been kept in a garage its whole life.
the plus side to owning a car from texas is there is no rust under it at all, the down side is that a lot of the rubber has gotten brittle.

Yeah, I moved to the sweaty south from southern california so I know all about dry rot. Fortunately all my weatherstrip is in great shape and that's probably due to being garage kept but I also like to think turtlewax ICE has something to do with it. I'm like the old lady in the hot sauce commercial from a couple years back. "I put that shit on everything".
I'll assume Datman is right which would be good news. Try infiniti of charlotte. They have an online site but I cannot remember the name they go by. They're competent, know their stuff and unlike most online retailers, they still except phone calls. If any infiniti dealer has it, they can get it.
