Upgrades to Support Bigger Wheels/Suspension

Hi All

Question, besides the BBKs, Lowering, Struts/Shocks, did anyone do any other upgrades to support your new wheels. I was just at the shop that did my brakes before I got my wheels, springs, struts/shocks installed, and he was telling me their are other upgrades that I should do to support the new set up, etc, tie rods, ball joints, bearings. Im thinking that is what he mentioned, but he could have just making excuses as to why Im having brake issues. Im ordering the FX50 brakes, but I just wanted to know if there was something else I should be doing. Thanks

What are your braking issues?

Squealing and now Im feeling steering wheel shake when braking; the shop guy says its caused by the bigger wheels. I got new rotors/brake pads in Mar 08 and put on the wheels about 2-3 months ago and Im not an aggressive driver where I need to severely brake. They are telling me my rotors are probably warped. I have to go back to his shop when I have more time. Only reason why Im going back is I should have a year warranty on his work.

I suppose the added rotating mass could add to stress on the brakes, a lot of FXers are running 22s without issues though.

No brake issues here with my 22's. Sounds like the shop guy pitching you a sale?

I think they are just looking for a way out by blaming the issues on the wheels. I have taken my FX back twice for issues with my brakes. I had planned to upgrade, but I figure they should stand by their work. Im looking to upgrade to those FX50 brakes if they dont give me any rubbing issues in the front.

yeah sounds like they are trying to get paided. I am almost sure that when your riding and you brake and you feel a shimmy it is cause your rotors are warped. I have been riding 22's with no pobs. I would get a second opinion.

I just purchased rotors/pads/SS lines, gonna install this weekend. BTW...man your FX avatars looks tight, you should post some pics, represent that Red FX.

I think I did currently got the matte black 20" stockers on at the moment I think I will update the photobucket then post the pic's with the 22's and the stockers.
thanks for the compliments.
