Currently have changed the all the interior lights, DRL, and fogs. I was trying to change the turn signal to a switchback LED when I realized it only turns on as amber.. looked it up and there wasn't any solutions in some thread from 2013. Has anyone done it yet? Thanks

The front turn signals are amber only bulb. You don't need switchback bulbs. If you really want switchback, you'll have to some wiring yourself.
I'm running amber LEDs for my front turn signals, and they work great.

Do these not cause the different faster blinking rates?

With any led turn signal you will need to wire load resistors so they don’t hyperflash

Recently changed all exterior bulbs on my G and Z, contemplating on doing the FX too.

G sedan uses a single bulb as turn signal ans DRL. I have just purchased (from Amazon) and installed that exact thing a couple of days ago. The base fits just snug enough into the socket to be secure (but does not lock in place however).

The white is between 5000k and 6000k color, so won't match the OEM 4300k HID color.

Those resistors run quite hot, I zip tied them instead of using double sided tape. Before putting my fender liner back together, I tested the bulb by leaving DRL on for 1 hour, then then signal for 15 minutes continuously (car connected to a battery tender). Thankfully they passed the test.

Good thing is low cost + plug and play, great if you don't feel like doing the wiring yourself. More elegant and quality setups can be found on vleds.com.

That's really great to know, so thanks for the feedback as I have just ordered some.

How is the DRL function wired on your Z as I understand the turn signal part is just plug and play but I am trying to get my head around wiring up the DRL on an FX without a factory DRL?

In FX and Z's case, this bulb will only serve as turn signal. In the G, the same bulb serves as small light and turn signal, that's where this switchback bulb will work. For the FX, only the amber will come when turn signal is activated, the white LED won't light up.

Edit: re-read your earlier post, seems like I'm repeating something you already knew. Sorry

    I appreciate the reply.

Hopefully the wiring diagram might offer some information as the DRL function is used in a number of markets.

    Some working examples here:

Our Canadian market FX's use the fogs as DRL's.

I think I might end up doing that as our fog lights are useless.

If you set your lights to Auto, and put a little electric tape over the eye on top of dash, voila, headlights light up every time you’re going, night and day.

I know, not technically DRL, but they work fine, and I’ll bet you can’t think of a simpler way to convert US models with at least some sort of workaround running lights.
